Reserve league looks like a go

    The article keeps mentioning a "developmental" league. Also, the inference is that this, in some way, will conflict with P40 and Nike's sponsorship of it.

    I was under the impression that "reserve" teams were going to be the option. These teams being controlled by the parent MLS team and maybe even travelling and playing the day after the big team plays. This would also allow for an increase in roster sizes, salary cap, and SI's slots for each team.

    I'm confused now??

    i'm confused, too, but with Adidas sponsoring a developmental "league" it makes sense that essentially they're paying for all or most of the reserve team costs. the details aren't finalized yet, so i guess we'll have to wait and see.
