Hello. I am currently researching results which are missing from the record books. Could anyone help me find results of the following, with regards to Oceania?

    21 Jul 1956 - Tasmania v Australia
Aug 1975 - New Caledonia v New Hebrides (in Guam, South Pacific Games)
Aug 1975 - New Caledonia v Papua New Guinea (in Guam, South Pacific Games)
Sep 1983 - New Caledonia v Papua New Guinea (in Western Samoa, South Pacific Games 3rd Place Match)
Sep 1991 - Solomon Islands v New Caledonia (in Papua New Guinea, South Pacific Games Semi-Final)
Sep 1991 - New Caledonia v Vanuatu (in PNG, SPG - 3rd Place Match)
Sep 1991 - Fiji v Solomon Islands (in PNG, SPG - Final)

This one would be weird, as Tassie is an island state of Australia.

The only reason it would have been played, would have been as some sort of exhibition game (I'm guessing) as Tassie would rarely see any of the National team games & players, live.

Tasmania played Australia on 10th October 1984.

    Result - Tasmania 0-2 Australia

This can be seen as a sort of international for the pro-independentists on Tasmania (if there are any!), as presumably, none of the Tasmania players would have represented Australia at any stage.

    mcruic,

Tasmania became part of the Australian Commonwealth (at federation) in 1901, along with the other 5 states & 1 territory at that time. As to the remark on "independence", in a footballing context you may be correct, but not in a political & social sense.

This game is still a mystery to me, but that's not unusual.

    Cheers.
