Huss, maybe you can change it where we can see more "Rep" comments than just the last 5? Bill has a good point here.
is there some kind of bug in this reputation system??? I gave a poster some positive reputation points and they're claming that I handed them negative points after viewing their control panel.. One or two other posters are making similar claims..
I can't see who left the comments either. Judging from this thread, it seems Mods can't see the comment authors while regular posters can?
This reputation crap is ********ed up. I am already on the bottom of the list with -9 points. I dunno how this works I have recieved about 15 comments 9 negative and 6 positive, shouldn't that make it positive 7 since we started with 10? I don't think the positive ones have any affects on the points whereas negative ones seem to have some. Oh and is there a way to read all of them? I can only see the last 5. Funny thing almost all of the negative ones had came from ppl i dunno. I would say get rid of this thing it is just confusing and has already affected my relationship with a couple of posters for wrong reasons. On the other hand it's fun to see some of these comments written about you haha some of them are pretty funny. BTW skip "Cute but annoying?" whats up with that?
Oops, I left a few negative rep bombs for people before I knew our names are attached to them. Oh well. I apologize Loney, superdave, oman, etc for my crass comments. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I would like to publicly apologize to Huss for making the above accusation, although it was meant tongue-in-cheek. Turns out, Huss is one of a very few individuals who has given me a positive rep shot. Thank you, Huss. p.s. I could use another jolt of positivity.
It seems I received a negative rep from a sockpuppet (screen name created yesterday, zero posts), which I suppose is one way of getting around the non-anonymous comments. Then again, it also appears that, since the sock has zero points, it didn't affect my reputation one bit..... errrr, not that I care, as I tell myself. I actually don't mind the negativity if the reputation giver leaves an entertaining comment. Unfortunately, the best any of the posters who gave me negative rep could do was "Loser".
Sorry. But you are cute but annoying. Or is is annoying, but cute? Anyway, I tried to give you a positive rep but it won't let me. I have to spread reputation to other people first (sounds like an STD, doesn't it? Oh, this rash? Mike Segroves gave me reputation the other night).
Several people have reported that positive rep is showing up as negative. Mod Dante said Huss knows about it.
yeah and thats why Im dubious of handing out reputation points unless the comments are blatantly obvious..
I started the thread on the mods forum and several people reported the problem. Anyway every time that I handle a positive point now I confirm that in the comments just to make sure.
Do you mean it's not possible for a new user to leave a comment or give points? I don't think the user affected my points at all, but I did get a gray square from a newbie who joined on 3/27/2004.
This thing is pretty funny. For a very innocuous post (I suggested to a newbie to the politics forum that quoting commondreams.org wasn't a good starting point for a discussion) a lefty and a right each slagged my rep. I eagerly await my middle of the road positions on Reyna and Mathis sending my rep completely into the toilet once WCQs start.
