Just came back from New York City. I need to tell you that there is big possibility that I move to New York next year. I'm fine in LA, but I miss my family who live in New York and New Jersey. I will be going to the Galaxy-San Jose game, but I dont have a ticket. I will try to get to the stadium 2-3 hours ealier in hope to find something. I'm sure I will find a ticket. In the mean time, I would like you to report your stadium atmosphere for the 4th of july celabration. Keep me informed.
Despite not a good attedance for a 4th of July game, the atmosphere a DC was amazing. It was great. Yeahhhhhhhhhh baby. That's the way it show be all time.
I was in DC(drove 5 hours to watch the Metro get their arses handed to them), and the stadium was ELECTRIC(for an MLS game). The first three goals by United were greeted with a thunderous ovation.....I've never seen the Meadowlands come close to that(maybe when mathis scored what should have been a winner in the San Jose game that wednesday)...... If I were a United fan, I would be VERY proud of my stadium and fellow fans.....
In KC the first half was ok as well as the atmosphere. Second half started out slow and not looking very good even though we were a man up With Klienie's rocket and the barrage that happened afterwords the head started to rock. The curse of 20000 is now gone and mostly likely those 20000 fans will be back.
The crowd in KC was a bit late in arriving. There seemed to be a large walkup crowd that caused long lines at the ticket counters. As Spoon said, thing got cookin' in the 2nd half and Arrowhead was rocking about as well as could be with 20,000 fans in an 80,000 seat stadium. The best thing was the Wizards playing well in front of a big crowd. You have to believe a percentage of those first timers will come back for another match, maybe next Saturday in our "Freddy Game".
the crowd and atmospher in LA was fantastic. the stadium was packed to the brim, including a packed house on Lalas Hill, the energy was vibrant and alive, and while the game sometimes slowed down due to all the hacking and stoppages in play, there were a lot of dangerous plays, near misses and attacking opportunities that kept the fans on the edge of their seats. toss in some "olas" (the wave), a riot squad in full voice, confetti after both Galaxy goals, a mullan red card and all kinds of this and that, and it was a great time had by all (even an earthquake fan like me).
it was great when we booed the san jose fans to shut the hell up along with the drummer guy who they somehow let into the non supporter section beating his drum at the group of blue when they started some quakes chant. also i liked my "go back to san jose" after the booing had shut the quakes fans up (the q's fans in that the corner closest to the hill) im sure since i was some rows up u guys didnt hear me but it made me feel better about myself .
Colorado atmosphere kind of sucked ... but that was mostly due to the game being another snoozer Rapids game. There were only 42K this year as opposed to the 60K size crowds we've had in the past ... but it seemed more people were there at the start of the game that in the past (many people just show up for fireworks).
