http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2008/02/reports-usa-vs.html Possibly on May 28. If it happens, who is going? Hell, we could stick around for the Spain friendly as well on June 4.
what a better way to see Europe. I just hope someone comes up with a travel package. I am going to try to go to both.
Sorry if there's a better place for this question (I don't read this sub-form very often), but: will there be any sort of segregated seating at Wembley for this game? Very close to done, according to Soccer Insider http://blog.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/2008/03/earth_watch.html I'm sure I'll be able to get a ticket somehow (Wembley is MASSIVE), but I'd prefer to sit with Sam's Army, if they have a section...
You won't be able to cheer for the USA unless you are in some sort of Sam's Army section. I imagine there will be a small supporters' section as there was when we played at Scotland a couple years ago.
the match has been confirmed on the FIFA website : http://fifa.com/associations/association=usa/fixturesresults/gender=m/index.html# I really hope I can find a way to get to this one.
This is great news (still waiting for the federations to confirm it before I get too excited), I'm actually going to be in London on May 28...this was planned months before rumors of the game even started. Talk about good luck. I imagine there will be a decent number of US fans there, nothing like K-Town, obviously.
So..what is going to happen with tickets? How will we as American supporters be able to get them? I've never gone to a US game overseas before and if this 100% happens I am gonna fly over for games vs England & Spain. How can I get tickets so I sit with other Americans?
I talked to the events coordinator at US soccer, and he said they are working on it , and will let everyone know soon. I will be able to go if I can get at least one friend to go with me. I hope I can make it ! Chase
I think US soccer knows that US fans will want to go to this, and are working on getting an allocation of tickets. I have no clue how many they are trying to get , but hopefully it is enough to satisfy the need.
So who is strongly considering this trip ? It may just be a friendly, but I have been begging the USSF to schedule this game for a while, and now that its happening, I dont want to miss the chance to cheer on the US at Wembley against England. Myself and one other friend are very close to getting the go ahead. And with USSF's allocation of tickets, I would love for there to be a good number of US fans at Wembley for this one. Chase-SCB
my friend and I just got confirmation, so we are in I talked to the event coordinator at US soccer about ticketing, and he said as long as we act on the first day, we should all be able to get our tickets. Chase
not too worry anyone, but on the FIFA fixture list, this game is no longer on the US' schedule. The game is still going to happen, I'm not too worried about it.
We'll have to wait and see. This game hasnt even been officially announced yet, so a lot of fans dont even know about the match yet.
Luckily I already had a trip to Europe planned for this summer but was scheduled to come back on May 25th ... now I'm in the process of extending my trip and most likely I'll be at the game.
Here to add my two cents to this... I sent an e-mail out to the USSF to see if I could get any response out of them regarding these rumors but as yet have not received a response. Additionally, I asked about Spain ticketing info to see if anything had been done there. I will pass along the response that I get. I would love for this game to go on. As it turns out, a rare find of some baseball cards may yet provide the means for me to get over across the pond for the match. Wembley looks absolutely gorgeous and I'd love to see us match up against England. My only concern is if that's the game that Beckham is slated to get his 100th cap. If so, that would make getting tickets a bit of a nightmare one would think. Hopefully if/when this match is announced, things will get a bit more organized in terms of ticketing. This would be my first senior national match of any kind, so I am extremely hopeful that it goes on as rumored!
I have talked to the events coordinator at US soccer, and he said ticketing info will be out shortly, most likely when the game is announced, which I'm expecting sometime next week . I will most likely be buying my airfare this weekend. Chase
This is looking like a real possibility for me. The only obstacle is missing a few days of a summer class, which I should be able to work around. Forgive the noob question.. but if this game goes, would it have to be on May 28th? I am under the impression that there are only certain dates on the FIFA international calendar on which these games can be played, and seeing as we have a game against Spain a week later, I'd imagine it'd be the 28th. My plan at the moment is to fly from Florida on Monday the 26th and get there in the morning on Tuesday the 27th. I want to try and get my airfare as soon as possible to get a better rate, however I don't want to book anything only to figure out the game's actually the 26th or 27th. Any insight would be appreciated. Again my apologies for the questions, but I am stoked to actually see our boys play!
