I managed to get a few of us singing "I Believe That Sp*rs Are Shit" at O' Donnell's afterward. I think it's ready for the bigtime.
Alright, I had to leave the AA facebook group. I still want news and updates on actual AA stuff going on, but figure I'll get those in my email if I'm a member. Too much inane nonsense being posted there filling up my facebook feed (and this coming from a regular BigSoccer poster).
You wouldn't be the first to leave, or the last. I'll look into ways to keep people from posting crap, but i think that it has created an online community that has been lacking for a while. You already had notifications turned off, right?
Yeah, I mean no real complaint. It is what it is... I guess I just have a lower saturation point than some people. Happy to be a part of AA and get updates... don't know that there's really much to do about the Facebook thing!
Only thing i've seen is having all posts approved by an admin. Which should probably happen anyway, and might cut the signal to noise ratio in half.
Sit back and wait for your scarf. Don't hold your breath though, the next shipment of member packs probably won't go out for another 2-3 weeks.
Anti, are you an officer? I was looking around the Arsenal America site and didn't see a list of leadership or anything.
Yeah, I'm basically in charge of the member packs. We try to send them out in bunches of 100 but now that demand has died down a bit it takes a few weeks to get a group that large together. We just sent out 120 about a week ago. All told we've shipped over 1400 out in the past 3 months or so. It might take some time, but you'll get yours. If it starts taking too long we might have to go to smaller shipments.
Yeah, we hired a fulfillment company out here in AZ. When done in bulk, it only costs about 1.25 extra per pack, but makes the process so much simpler. We still haven't got it fully automated, but what we do is compile a mailing list of new members every few weeks and send it over to fulfillment and they ship it out the next day. It's been working well so far.
Okay...cool. If you wanted to take it a step more, some fulfillment companies will store the packages and then send them out on a rolling basis (you can automate from registration forms or whatever). The storage costs are usually low, but the pick and pack will probably be more since you aren't doing bulk.
It's probably something we should think about. The costs are about 50 cents higher for single shipments, but it might be worth it for people to get their packs within a week, instead of within a month. I would love to see the whole thing automated since compiling those lists is a chore, but I'm not computer savvy enough to figure out how to do it myself. Right now the only real costs are packing and shipping, storage is less than 20 bucks a month.
It was perfect timing. I had it sent to my permanent address in WV and it arrived while I was visiting.
It's always a good feeling when i see a group of fans online and someone in the crowd has an ArseAm scarf. Doug G really did a great job with that design.
