Now that we've signed our "number 9," I'm curious where people are at. Question: Will you buy Revs season tickets this year?
Ugh That's all I have to say. Why did I have to settle in NE ? I could have moved to any part of this great country.
First time since I moved back to New England that I have steady employment and most Saturdays off... and I'm holding off. Waiting for the organization to give me a reason to hop back on the bandwagon. Still waiting.
No... but then I never have. Want to get me to buy season tickets? Put a shovel in the ground and build a stadium somewhere reasonable (i.e., not Hartford).
I know it's still early in this poll, but right now Revs fans have proven (to me) that they are pu$$ies. Sure there are some fed up people, but for the most part its a bunch of people still clinging to the hope that this franchise will show them some love, or just blindly following along because they love the sport even though this franchise is killing it in the process. The few people that actually do not renew will just be replaced by some new naive soccer lover who is new to the game and wants a local team to support, or by some screaming 12 year old who will mock the Revs once he gets to college. I'm pretty certain that the "core" group of fans the Revs now have is what they will always have, and that is fine for Kraft. As long as he gets about 11-12K average per game and can offset his operating costs, he will do no more. I put "core" in quotations, because a lot of that "core" is what I posted above. New passionate supporters replacing the old fed up passionate supporters. There is contingent of fans who have been there for years, but they are few and far between. The only way things will ever change is if ALL the passionate supporters voice their protest. I'm not talking about some lame staged walkout. I'm talking about a real boycott. It will never happen though, because most Revs fans are too concerned about not being able to hangout at their Saturday afternoon frat party every week in the summer. They won't be able to see or be seen. They will hide behind bullshit like "it's disrespectful to the players" or "I'm Revs through thick n thin"...even though the reason why this franchise is stuck in the thin right now is because they have a steady customer base of apathetic lemmings. This franchise is going nowhere, and the fans are partly to blame.
I travel the whole country for my job. Take my word for it and I'll save you some time.... you are already in the best part of it.
I'm not renewing, but as a student it's financially motivated. I noticed after my short 1.5 years as a season ticket holder that most games I could find someone with an extra ticket at the $16/game or lower price range. The games I had to miss due to work or family/friend obligations seemed like a waste of money. It may be trivial to some, but seeing a booklet of 10 tickets or $160 staring at me last October made me rethink renewing. I'm still going to go to as many games as I can. I just can't see myself attending all of them.
Come on. Why quit now? We're in again based on the NASCAR car crash aspect of watching this team. Head out with friends for pre-game fun, watch the thrills, spills and general hilarity, leave after 15 minutes. Then, take full advantage of all the other on-site fun. Take in a movie, a Five Guys burger, or tour the incredible accomplishments of the Patriots at the NEFHOF. There's no attempt to be a serious MLS contender here. Just buy a cheap season ticket, ride the fun wagon at Patriot Place, head back to Bellingham or wherever. That's the business plan - just go with it.
Thart's easy for you to say, «Kraft-dehors.» I mean your team plays in a nice stadium right in «centre-ville,» with easy access from both the «Autoroute» and «le Metro.» It will be probably 95% filled, and you even have another «Stade» available for big games or winter CONCACAF matches. Unlike our team, who just rolls over for Caribbean giants whose entire team makes less than our top paid player, you guys actually want to play in those kind of games! «Sacre bleu!»
Revs need to offer a 1/2 season plan with 1 "Special Game" in each package. Every other team in MLS does. Another fail by the FO. Sure they'd lose some season ticket holders, but I believe many more would sign up and balance it out. Unless a miracle signing comes through and the stadium atmosphere is enhanced greatly I don't see a reason to spend the time or $$ to support this team at Gillette Stadium on weekly basis.
It is easy for me to say. That's why I said it. I'm glad I don't support this loser franchise and it's loser fans.
Careful ... we don't have to agree here, but we do have to not call people who we disagree with, names either.
So, it looks like my original statement that 3/4 of Revs fans on this forum won't buy season tickets was pretty accurate. Unless we sign a DP or announce a stadium, it looks like almost exactly 75% of us won't be season ticket holders this year.
FWIW, I'm not basing my decision to hold off on season tickets based on either the DP or the stadium situation. I'm not even sure I have a set criteria. I just want to feel like we've taken significant steps in the right direction. Four of our first five are on the road this year. If they show me something in those first five games, I'll evaluate things from there.
