I love Arena, but I feel like it would play out like his US after Klinsmann. Hard to turn the ship around when it’s at the bottom of the ocean.
What do folks think about Savarese? He seems like he might be the best fit of the people rumored to have interviewed - the least bad fit? He had a 42% win % with Portland, though he had Valeri during most of that time. And playoffs 4 out of 5 full seasons, and 2 MLS Cup finals. Seems to me he's a counterattack guy which would suit us. Also, presumably, speaks Spanish.
I recall Savarese is fluent in Spanish , Italian as and English. As I recall , he was a decent player but don’t remember if he was a good coach.
Savarese has (based on history) issues in the locker room, it was one of the things that lead to his dismissal his inability to keep cohesion in the locker room.
Ha, ha, ha!! I'd take Ian in the dual role and not think twice about it. Il Bruce sucks. I don't want him near my team. But I expect us to do something stupid like hiring Bruce. Maybe we hire someone other than Bruce and give that new guy the hammer? That might be OK. GO Quakesfans!!
Gio would be fine. I'd even be OK with Marc Dos Santos. I know that he wasn't successful with Vancouver, but they weren't spending anything like enough money on their team. Sartini has gotten a lot more support from ownership. Can we steal Wilfried Nancy's top assistant? GO Quakesfans!!
I'm renewing so I can show them how disappointed I am by not renewing when they inevitably suck again in 2025
I didn't mean to imply that I had ST's, it was more advice to those who still do. RottenFish needs to feel the pressure, and loss of season ticket holders might help. Go Quakesfans!!
