The Hounds will face Rabotnicki Skopje in the third round of LdC qualifier. They should be thru, really.

Hey guys I need a little help. I go uni in Canterbury, Kent, UK. and was thinking of making the trip over to see Lille play on Wednesday night in the CL qualfier against Rabotnicki Skopje. Is this game going to be played at Lille? As I thought their ground isn't up to UEFA standards. If so then how do I get to and from the stadium from Lille Flandres train station? and the last train back to Calais from Lille train station is at 20.13pm. The game starts at 18.00pm. How much of the game would I miss to give me enough time to get back to Lille Flandres train station?

    Thanks

    Matt

The match will be at the Metropole for the qualifier. If Les Dogues make it past that round into the CL proper than they will have to play at Lens' Bollaert stadium. Tickets are available online on LOSC's site at www.losc.fr/users/billetterie/titre.php and you should be able to order well enough though if you don't understand French some of the "fine print" might be tough to make out.

As for getting there, I believe you take the Cantons line to Pont de Bois (I've only done this once and I wasn't really paying close attention so I'd get confirmation). I imagine you may have to miss the last 15 to 20 minutes of the match but again my sense of time could be off.

Good win guys.... Lille is far from a fluke. Now open up your wallets and sign Puel to a 10 year deal.

Apparently Michel Bastos made a very impressive debut playing on the left-hand side. Hopefully he won't end up like Hicham Aboucherouanouanouane.

I just saw the highlight of Keita's goal. What work. Brilliant footwork down the flank, and a shot from an impossible angle, hit the keeper and went in. Beautiful.

Good Luck to Lille this season.

I am a somewhat new Ligue 1 fan. I started watching Ligue 1 matches on Fox Soccer Channel last season and I chose Lille as the team I want to support in France. I liked the way they played last season and I was pleased to see them start out this season with a win. I will do my best to contribute some to the board this season in support of LOSC!!!

I believe this one is at the Metropole, the return will be at the Le Bollaert on 13/1/07.

I think it is safe to say that you have qualified for the CL.

Nice win for Lille today. A three goal cushion should be enough to help LOSC advance to the Group stage of this competition. I am hoping they can get a favorable draw in the group stage an advance to the knockout phase.

Hopefully that'll change with the new Grand Stade coming into being.

It was a small crowd but it was on a Wednesday night against a no name opponent in a crummy stadium so I wouldnt be that concerned with the low turnout.

The question is when will that change come into being????

9,000 is a little more than half their average.

I dont think they'll have any trouble increasing that number. A qualifying tie against a Macedonian team doesnt have as much drawing power as a group stage game against Barcalona.

As the newbie to the Lille forum, I apologize, but what is the capacity of Lille's home stadium, Metropole?

Also, which club would be considered Lille's main rival?

    Thanks!
