Lille signed a Brazilian named Fernandes Michel Bastos from Paranense. Apparantly he can operate on the left side, which makes him more than likely to replace Dernis. http://66.218.71.231/language/translation/translatedPage2.php?lp=fr_en&urltext=http%3A%2F%2Fnews.maxifoot.com%2Finfo-051553_60615%2Ffootball-150422215954740a1.php

Automatic LdC qualification for Lille??? Their archrival Lens might sneak into the Champions League as well following the sanctions on Juventus and Milan. Interesting... http://66.218.71.231/language/translation/translatedPage.php?lp=fr_en&text=http%3a%2f%2fwww.lequipe.fr%2fFootball%2f20060710_155124_01.html
Mathieu Chalme says he wants to join St-Etienne. http://66.218.71.231/language/trans...tball/ligue-1/2006-2007/sport_sto925483.shtml
Lille sneaked into the second pot of this season's Champions League draw after Juve & Milan got stripped of their berths. The Hounds will be able to avoid powerhouses like Munich, Chelsea and Roma in the group stage. You go, guys!
That's good news.Has Lille released their new jerseys for this upcoming season?I don't think I saw them on their website.
Lille know without illusion. http://66.218.71.231/language/trans...w.lequipe.fr/Football/20060722_170830Dev.html
Lillois are seeded for the upcoming Champions League qualifier. Let's hope they will make it through. The list of seeded clubs: Milan AC (ITA) - WTF?????? Liverpool (ANG) Arsenal (ANG) Valencia (ESP) LOSC Lille Métropole (FRA) Benfica (POR) NK Gorica (SLO) ou FC Steaua Bucarest (ROU) CSKA Moscou (RUS) AEK Athènes (GRE) Liepajas Metalurgs (LET) ou Dynamo Kiev (UKR) Levski Sofia (BUL) ou Sioni Bolnisi (GEO) Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) Galatasaray (TUR) Hambourg (ALL) Slovan Liberec (RTC)
UEFA do the seeding, FIFA has nothing to do with it. But you can easily replace UEFA with FIFA in your statement, there's no difference
FIFA is divided into confederations that oversee the game in the different regions of the world.UEFA is a member of FIFA and represents FIFA in Europe.
Thanks for the primer. The decision is a UEFA decision not a FIFA decision. Does FIFA approve in a de facto way? Perhaps but only rarely does FIFA interfere with the various confederations unless an appeal is lodged by a member. When it comes to dealing with the European competition implications of the scandal the call is UEFA's. "However, UEFA has still to rule on Milan's eligibility, and there is a chance that they will still be excluded from European competition. If this occurs, UEFA has the option to replace them with another Italian team, or a team from another country. Palermo, Livorno and Parma will take the UEFA Cup first round slots originally going to Roma, Lazio, and Chievo.[2]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_A_scandal_of_2006
My guess is that Berlusconi managed to flirt Milan's way out of sanction and relegation. Damn the Italians.
(Par Benjamin Bonneau) Excellent draw for Lille !
Yeah, your right I only said "That's FIFA for you", because UEFA is a member of FIFA, but technically like you said it was UEFA that made the decision.
Well you deserved that one after your Lorraine flag snip you gave me. For your info, there is both a flag AND a coat of arms, but I didn't want to get into it.
Yeah, I knew there was both.I was just saying that the Lorraine coat of arms looks a little different than the flag.
Well cheers then! Bringing this back on track, hat's off to Lille, doing what they have done with the resources avail. Imagine what this little club could do with a decent stadium!

Nice idea. I agree with whole thing except that I don't see Acimovic starting on the side as a SMF or WF. I think he will start in the center as AMF and battle with Bodmer for that position while faster and more mobile players like Debuchy and Gygax fight for that left SMF positions among themselves only.
