Interesting use of homely, here, which I assume might be interpreted very differently by American vs. British readers.
Her speaking voice does not really give the impression that she has such a dynamic singing voice. And I grew up around people who sing.
This is an old article, but sums up the differences: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1988-05-29-vw-5209-story.html
Steve Bannon was using a Blackberry in 2018 and still had the "Sent by" line at the bottom of the emails. Damn.
It’s almost down to page 3! But I fixed that! https://www.aeaweb.org/news/aea-statement-dec-2-2025 Larry Summers is persona non grata now with the American Economic Association.
I’m seeing reports he’s been kicked off for Epstein ties. No. That isn’t it. He’s being kicked off because he was asking someone about how to get his mentee to see him as a lover and not just a mentor. It just happened to be revealed in a email conversation with about the worst person possible.
Grand jury testimony unsealed. Yeah, from 2005 and 2007, but still. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4ge8p0n0zko A US judge has ordered the unsealing of grand jury transcripts from the 2005 and 2007 investigation into convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The Florida judge granted the justice department's request for the material following Congress' passage last month of a bill ordering the release of all files on the disgraced financier. The law "applies to unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials" that relate to Epstein and his accomplice-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, the court order said. A similar Department of Justice request was rejected in August because it violated a federal rule on grand jury materials, which the newly signed law overrides. US District Judge Rodney Smith granted the government's expedited motion to unseal the typically secret grand jury transcripts and modify a protective order that previously barred the release of the materials.
Epstein files: A federal judge granted the Justice Department’s request to unseal records of the grand jury investigation into the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a day after granting a similar request in the case against Ghislaine Maxwell, his accomplice. The rulings came in the wake of a new law requiring the department to release all its Epstein files by Dec. 19.” “The two rulings could lead to the most expansive and revealing look yet at the federal investigations of Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell. The judges’ orders cover not only grand jury transcripts but also a large trove of other investigative materials that were provided to defense lawyers in the discovery process and kept confidential for years under court protective orders.” NY Times coverage
I guess I'm unclear on this. If the Justice Department is requesting this - Pam Bondi's Justice Department - isn't that bad? Won't the corrupt DOJ just release stuff that helps them and not all the stuff they're supposed to release? I don't get the headlines which seem to be implying this is a good thing or a step in the direction of actually releasing the "Epstein files".
The process is playing out, but there is also a very valid concern that Bondi will only screen out the documents that reference Trump and other Republicans. Either that or redact the documents into oblivion
