It's notable that they actually voted on this today. Like I said earlier in the thread, it was listed on the calendar such that they could have pushed it to the end of the week -- and beyond. The fact that they fast tracked it instead of slow walking it, and then whipped it in the GOP to get a unanimous vote (never mind the one no), tells you that they made a strategic political calculation and then all immediately fell in line. The Dems should take a lesson from that kind of strategic party unity and discipline.
On today of all days, Trump meets with Ronaldo and praises him, which is awkward given the assault allegations against him.
The Epstein bill passed the Senate unanimously. I'm not surprised at unanimously. I'm surprised they passed it tonight. Immediately. With no changes. It's now going to Trump. These are veto proof majorities in both chambers. If Trump wants to keep the files concealed, he's going to have to engage in some shenanigans. Which he certainly could do. Things are getting interesting. -- Edit - Apparently, it was done by unanimous consent. No actual vote. Not sure that really matters, though.
Amazing how it took months to have a vote on a bill everyone supported. Why was Johnson refusing to have a vote on it again?
Is this really the same germophobe known as Donald Trump who's now grabbing hands and not caring where they've been?
If this gets signed quickly and "everything" comes out sooner than later, you can bet it's not "everything" and it's all scrubbed. Why was Johnson dragging his feet? Perhaps because scrubbing takes time.
Yeah - it's just hilarious how that's all priced in to US politics these days. It ought to be a huge scandal that he was blocking it for Donnie
H They don't have to pretend anymore. They are as much of the room as those of us who do not ******** underage girls
I suspect the problem was getting gramps to realise his dem hoax strategy wasn't working Megyn R Kelly's "barely legal" defence is one for the ages
I would have thought the way to refer for a 40 year old "dating" a 15 year old is "barely illegal". But that's just being technical.
I tried to upload the video, but someone was breaking down text conversations between Epstein and Bannon and Ted Cruz during the nomination hearings of Brett Kavanaugh. Anyway, they were talking about Kavanaugh being someone that could be relied to overturn Chevron in 2018!!! Bannon made a quip about how if Gorsuch voted to overturn Chevron it would be him overruling a judgement that was based on a ruling involving his mother. Looked it up and sure enough Anne Gorsuch was the EPA Administrator whose agency's rule led to the original Chevron ruling.
They want to get this behind them. Now begins the process of slow rolling or outright violating the law to keep them under wraps.
Seriously. Those email records weren't going to redact themselves of any mention of Trump. Lots of intensive labor went into the scrubbing process.
