Trump is saying maybe someone wrote the letter and signed his name to it. Which is about 62% of a Sharpiegate. He’s also saying he isn’t thinking about pardoning Maxwell, but he could if he wanted to. Which means he’ll pardon her if he thinks it will help him in that moment.
I think that's the biggest difference right now between the left and right. The left doesn't care if their own go down if it means MAGA Daddy does. The right is actively protecting their daddy.
Maybe this should go in the Trump megathread, but I also wanted to point out that the US Attorney who had prosecuted Ghislane and was prepping to prosecute Epstein was fired. Maureen Comey. Yes, James Comey’s daughter. She is completely professional and competent. No reason given for her firing other than Trump saying he can do whatever he wants. Might have to do with her experience with Epstein & Ghislane, could be just that she’s Comey’s daughter, could be a bit of both. Odd that you would get rid of the person who probably knows more about the Epstein case than anyone else who was not directly involved in the criminal activity.

Yes and from what I saw, usually the prosecuting attorney would do an interview with someone like Maxwell and not Trump's personal attorney who lucked into the deputy AG job.
Since she's not a political appointee, she can sue and would probably win----after protracted litigation.

Most likely outcome at this point is that none of the men who abused those girls ever pay any sort of price and the one person still in prison for those crimes might soon be pardoned by the sitting POTUS. I do hope if that happens that MAGA gives up its "protect the girls" shtick. Though I already know that won't happen, since you have to be able to feel shame to be bothered by the hypocrisy required.
The thing for me whoever she names, she will have ot deal with when she is deposed because this will then go to trial. So high profile Dems and millionaires get named and then what? Trump had come to his supporters as a wealthy guy, but one who "gets" them, and is on their side. And he pledged to "drain the swamp," meaning he was going to get rid of all those wealth people in powerful positions. But now he is not doing that, and he is aligning himself with the wealth and powerful, the exact people he said he would go after. This argument speaks to me as I have been arguing that, to Trump, this is about money and not pedophilia, so I'm a bit biased here. But it also makes sense.
