It looks like Deisler has been sent home from Turin with a possible relapse for depression. He looked a little off form but I thought it might be from "hitting the wall" after not playing much last season. I wish him the best.

    This is so sad! :(

I really thought he would be the future of German soccer, he's so damn talented.

I really hope the media gives him some rest this time, it was disgusting to see today how the DSF followed every step of his when he left the team.

Bast, just think of yourself now and get better!

I agree completely, hope he gets better asap! Sometimes one wonders if a smaller team would have been better for him... anyway Basti good luck to you and hope to see you soon again as a happy man!

I thought Sebastien had this beat. :(

Its a real shame. I was really upset for him during the whole of last season.

When he left Hertha he was on the outs with most of fans as being a judas and many haven't forgiven him. The move to Bayern was abit too much for him. Everyone expecting him to be the next big thing. And every got on top of him. I was delighted when he came back pre-season and looked on top-form.

Seb - pls get better. I'm sure Hertha fans are more understanding this time. Just stick two fingers up at the media and take it in your own time. You are always welcome back at Berlin any day.....;)

Let me reiterate what I said on the Bayern vs Juventus thread.

"Well-I am not surprised that he has had a relapse or an "episode". These things just don't magically disappear."

He will probably have it for the rest of his life regardless if he plays football or not. He now needs to know how to live with it and try and alleviate the most debilitating symptoms. Good Luck Basti!

Yup, it's really hard to cure something like that, it's part of his chemistry and will always re-occur, unfortunatley. All the best to him regardless AND GO BAYERN! 3 against Juve and we're pretty much through to the next round!

Totally, its just that I don't like to see this happen. I just hope he come back even stronger and all his team-mates are fully behind him. :)

I have hoped for this guy to finally make the breakthrough for the past 4 years and I've given up on him now.

Looks like he will always be a fringe player at club and national level.

That's a bit harsh. He is a good footballer player, but even the best in the world are human.

We all suffer problems, be they physical or in this case mental.

At Hertha and in spells at Bayern he has shown his ability.

Not harsh, just being painfully blunt.
I would like to see him succeed like everyone else, as I said he was my number one player for the past 4 years but I just don't see him ever making it big like his talent deserves it to be.

Latest news say that it is not as bad as supposed. The doctor said that it was not a relapse, but "only" a small worsening of his psychic situation. Deisler needs a break and is checked in the clinic.

I hope that this is true and we soon will see him back on the pitch.

Let him take some time off football. Give him a couple of months to spend with his family and friends. Maybe that'll help. The midfield to me looks ok at least for this year!

He does need to have a break and get himself together. But he also has to look at his career. if playing is too much then he ought to think about that. if he wants to keep playng let him find a way to deal with the pressure and not let it get to him. Hes been through a lot and has huge talent, but if hes not up to it, he is simply not up to it.

Yes, because this condition isn't going to go away completley. It will always relapse and Deisler can't take off everytime it happens. He has to find a way to deal with the condition and find a consistent form.
