http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/s/sunderland/2278298.stm Have to think a loss to Villa means a new manager for Claudio on Monday.
Having watched the highlights from the game last night, I can honestly say it doesn't look like the players are playing much. I realize I only saw the highlights, but the only highlight they had for Sunderland was Reyna's shot that went just over the bar. There were lots of hightlights of Newcastle carving up guys that were pretty stationary. If they players have quit playing, what do you do? Is it the managers job to inspire them? Have they quit playing in order to get their manager sacked?
I prefer retiring, making myself again, and going back to the club with a board that doesn't expect much from you. Or just find a new club.
