I am doing a referee meeting for an unsanctioned rec league and was wondering if there is any type of generic referee badges that I could hand out to the refs in the league to cover up that ugly black velcro on are jerseys.
On a more serious note you can always wear something like this: or or design your own. I actually did this for our local indoor league.
Yes, I used etsy website and picked a reasonable vendor to do it for me. I even got my indoor manager to order some of them.
Personally, I think a bare velcro patch would be most appropriate. Anything other that the South Park badge above lends legitimacy to an ill-advised situation. To the league: "You want something that looks official? Get sanctioned and use real referees."
The SFSRA used to offer this wonderful generic badge but it's been "sold out" for years. I would love to have one like it for college club games.
I do very few unsanctioned games these days but I keep a few of these tucked away in my gear bag: You can purchase them at Amazon. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004H1PZGM/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_8KpOxb2JJYKHG Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I bought 3 of those about 5 years ago, I think I used them once. What prompted me to get them was the unsanctioned State Games every July. I hated the blank patch, too. But handing 2 out to the ARs was a pain. Not to mention getting them out of the reserve supply box in my trunk... I still think they might have a time and place. For other good ideas search eBay. I kind of like the Soviet era ones, but you could go with an American classic, too.
This is the badge I wear in unsanctioned games, i.e. indoor, high school off season showcases, etc...
I am Going to have a badge designed that looks like an nisoa badge. Does anyone know the dimensions of the nisoa badge?
Dang, there's some weird stuff out there when you google "funny sew on patches." This thread could go south fast ...
