In both division it is the third but last matchday: Regionalliga North Two important games without YA participation, but with lots of YA meaning were played today. The third ranked Essen lost and the first non-relegating team got one point. Tomorrow is the YA duel: Osnabrück vs Verl. Situation: Osnabrück clinches promotion with a win, Verl could leave the relegation spots with a win due to goal difference. Verl got another chance to stay in though: if Braunschweig switches with Karlsruhe in 2.Bundesliga on Sunday, then only 3 teams of Regionalliga North relegate and most likely Verl would stay in. Regionalliga South Siegen lost their home game against Hoffenheim by a last minute goal 0-1. It's a shocking result for them that probably drops them to relegation spots this weekend. Lukin started and went full 90, Norkus started but was substituted after 71 minutes, and van Buskirk - despite of injury - was on the bench (but DNP). Also Elversberg trembles this weekend to not drop to the relegation zone as they have off. The two remaining YA games in the south: Matarazzo and SV Wehen travel to Schweinfurt. Ranking looks pretty safe for Wehen with rank 10, but considering the points they can't be too sure already yet. Points at relegation endangered Schweinfurt would help them and especially the other YA a lot as everything but a win makes Schweinfurt's relegating very probable Shoffner and Neunkirchen host Aalen for their last home game in Regionalliga. Meaning of the game is only for Aalen, who are in a similar position as Wehen
Regionalliga Nord: Osnabrück vs Verl 1-2 Big upset in Osnabrück where 18.000 came for celebrating a promotion party. Originally the game went exactly like they wanted it - Verl got an early ejection after someone took revenge on Enochs for a foul. Then they had a pk, but failed. Nevertheless the 1-0 came short after, which was the HT score. The second half went without much action - except three minutes in the early 70s: Maurer scored Verl's equaliser, his second goal of the season. And three minutes later Verl even scored the game winner. Osnabrück has to postpone the celebrations, Verl is still in the relegation zone due to goals. Standings: 1 Osnabrück 61 +25 2 Aue 60 +21 ===== 3 Essen 56 +22 4 Wattenscheid 55 +19 ... 12 Cologne Ama 41 -5 13 Münster 40 -10 14 Hamburg Ama 37 -10 ===== (if Braunschweig relegates; if they send Karlsruhe down, then 15 stays in) 15 Verl 37 -13 16-18 can't catch them
Regionalliga South: Schweinfurt vs Wehen 3-2 Neunkirchen vs Aalen 0-1 Means: 11 Wehen 44 +2 12 Lautern Ama 42 -2 13 Elversberg 42 -13 14 Stuttgarter Kickers 42 -15 ========= 15 Siegen 40 -9 16 Schweinfurt 39 -2 17 Darmstadt 39 -10 Awful situation for Siegen: next week they (the third weakest road team) travel to Regensburg (the best home team). Maybe they have luck and Regensburg is in a party mood after they promoted today.
The missing facts: Enochs and Maurer both went full 90 on their usual positions. Matarazzo went full 90 as central mid and belonged to the best players of the game. Shoffner started as forward but was taken off after 55 minutes.
