They could not give it to Johnson. It is the Budweiser goal scorign champion and Eddie is only 20. Anyway, he only drinks the hard stuff.

    Congrats, Ching.

isn't the Scoring Champ based on points, not goals?

therefore, Pat Noonan and Amado Guevara share the spoils with 30...

Yep, you are right. MLS does not have an official "Golden Boot" award just for goal scoring. The Budweiser Scoring Leaders are Noonan and Guevera. The unofficial Golden Boot goes to Ching and Johnson.

Bah, I never did like Bud anyways.

    It's two separate awards.

But, if you give it to "goals in the run of play," then Ching wins.

no, its not...there is no "Golden Boot"...

what do you expect from a league that has a secondary assist stat?

There was a similar call for a Golden Boot award two years ago when Taylor Twellman was crowned the "Budweiser Scoring Leader" despite having one less goal than Carlos Ruiz. Ruiz had 24 goals and 1 assist while Twellman had 23 goals and 6 assists.

Carlito learned how to pass the ball last year when he had 5 assists to go along with his 15 goals. However, that was not enough to overcome 2003 Bud Scoring Leader Preki's 12g/17a stat line.

I think it's just based on points. Jeff Bradley has been trying to get the league to have a Golden Boot for years, because international soccer has it. Perhaps we keep reading about it there. It's always in his articles.
