I saw an article about this maybe Wednesday. The callups are for 29 days because at 30 days it sucks less for the guardsmen.
Brazil a serious country ? Never heard that one before ... You may like the decision, but calling Brazil a serious country isn't ... well ... serious. The main difference is that they apparently have some plans Bolsonaro and his allies drew up on how to kill Lula, Moraes (president of supreme court) and another politician. Not even sure if that's true or made up because well ... it's Brazil. Honestly I haven't paid attention to it much. I get enough "political entertainment" from what's happening here in the US. But the bar for this acts in Brazil are also a bit lower than the US as is general speech rights. As an example, a comedian has been sentenced to jail for 8 years for making crude and intolerant offensive jokes in his stand up shows. As a side note, Lula recently met and gave Putin the friendliest hug you will see. So we (speaking for my Brazilian side) are not a serious country .
Is it in here we are talking about trying to fire the Fed board members? This article at Reuters is gold. Pulte is the lickspittle given a fairly small government roll for fundraising for Trump who is trying to find pretext to purge members of government on the thinnest of charges. The very last paragraph, after they quite thoroughly demonstrate that Lisa Cook is guiltless:
NYT article about how Trump is now destroying supplies that were sitting in a Belgian warehouse and defunding birth control efforts in low income countries. Vandalism. https://archive.ph/BZlYv Russ Vought says: They are NOT abortifacient.
As part of Trump’s anti DEI push, the administration is cutting funding for students have hearing and vision impairments. Is it alarmist if I point out that Nazis put such people into camps and then murdered them on an industrial scale? https://www.propublica.org/article/trump-dei-students-education-deaf-blind-grant-funding
Has Hillary Clinton issued a statement on the killing of Charlie Kirk? It's hard to issue a statement in prison, right? Oh, she hasn't been arrested yet? Didn't Daddy say it'd happen "immediately immediately immediately"? Oh well. Trump lied. Again.
Well then that comes at a time when Fox News promote more good solutions. “An offhand comment made by Fox Newspersonality Brian Kilmeade about using “involuntary lethal injection” on mentally ill homeless people set off a wave of outrage on Saturday morning, and led to calls for him to be fired later that same day.” Raw Story. He wasn’t by the way.
You seem confused. In modern America (and 1930s Germany) saying groups of people should be murdered, whether they be gay, homeless, mentally ill, etc., gets you praised and a medal of freedom, while condemning such things gets you fired.
The other interesting thing about this whole mess: Someone comes along and says empathy is a made-up term. A lot of people hate the guy. A lot of people like the guy. He dies. The people who liked him show empathy. The people who hated him are like "oh well. I guess life goes on." The people who liked him are like: "Why don't you show empathy you classless morons?" He literally said "empathy is a made-up term". The people who hated him are living the way he wanted people to live.
I consider myself an empathic person, I care. when School kids are shot and I’m so hurt. But for someone who says that he doesn’t care about school kids being shot as long as we keep the 2nd amendment, then gets shot! I’m not so empathic.
I was curious about his education - or, to be specific, lack of it. He dropped out of Harper College (a very small community college*) after 1 semester and was then rejected by the US Military Academy at West Point. I guess that explains a lot. * For those not in the US or Canada, a community college is not the same as in other countries - it offers the first 2 years of the 4-year Bachelor degree, with students usually transferring to a 4-year university to finish their degree.
