That is the dumbest line of....well, it ain't reason but it certainly screams cowardice, ever. What were they thinking?
Someone with a conscience in the US military. Admiral Alvin Holsey is believed to be stepping down over the concerns of US blowing up boats in the Caribbean Sea. The latest 2 are from Trinidad and Tobago.
There were 3 TROs regarding a Portland deployment. I'd have to dig them up, and at the moment I'm not willing, but I know at least one had to deal with the CA National Guard. But that was relative to it being already federalized. I forget the other two, but another one was basically, "Y'all are playing games, here. So I'm gonna slap this TRO on all y'all." Not sure if that was part of the CA, or another one regarding the CA, or if it was something all together different. As I'm thinking about, I think one of them had that as a circular thing, and were looking at Chicago. Basically, it was an argument that if there was violence, full stop, then the NG could be deployed. Didn't matter if the violence was initiated by the federal government or by the protestors.
What kind half brained maron came up with that ruling? How could the 9th be that stupid or cowardly or whatever?
We have some Epstein Distraction survivors! https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/tr...-strikes-cartel-boat-are-survivors-rcna238104
The officer who is in charge of the part of our military that is summarily executing Latin Americans on boats in the Caribbean is taking early retirement. I hope he’s resigning out of principle, and that his courage is contagious.
It was based on precedent on what rights the government forces have to use force. The podcast talking about it were kind of rolling their eyes, and I found that argument to be ridiculous, but I can see it possibly being necessary if there is some limitation used by the government force in order to restore order, and any offenders possibly held to account. In a time of rule of law, I can see that being very grudgingly accepted, as the opposite suggests chaos. But at this point, when the rule of law has been ignored, that really no longer an option. Sadly, there are some who still don't grasp that this administration in all ways is willing to ignore the rule of law.
Probably got some legal advice on it and said "nah, don't wanna spend my retirement in prison for the Melon Felon"
Trinidadian moms & grandmas don't seem like types to be trifled with. "Wickedness" indeed. Burnley told AFP by phone that people her family knew in Venezuela “told them he was on the boat”. “According to maritime law, if you see a boat, you are supposed to stop the boat and intercept it, not just blow it up. That’s our Trinidadian maritime law and I think every fisherman and every human knows that,” she said. Burnley said her son was planning to return to Trinidad and Tobago after spending three months with family in Venezuela, just 6.8 miles (11km) away. Joseph’s grandmother Christine Clement also rejected claims of trafficking, calling the attack “wickedness”. At least 27 people have been killed so far in such attacks off the coast of Venezuela, which the Trump administration says are necessary to protect the United States from narcotics smuggled from Venezuela. Last month, fishers in Las Cuevas told the Guardian that they were afraid of being caught in the crossfire amid Trump’s “war on drugs” in the region. Instead of their usual route, heading west toward Venezuela, fishers said they now head east, staying close to the coast of Trinidad. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/16/airstrike-venezuela-trinidad-us-death-investigation
And then the military leaders will only be amoral trumpists. We need the military leaders to defy illegal orders, not retire.
B-52's are practicing cruise missile launches against Venezuela, and Marine helicopters are practicing insertion routes. They are doing it with transponders on so Venezuela (and we) can see it happening, but I think we've gone beyond the "try to scare them" phase.
The security in the Stad De Paree against those Scouse thugs for the Championship was exceptional. They should bring in some Frenchie Flic to help out.
So all they have to do is keep a check on pissant Pete’s emails and messages. That’s where the biggest stories come from.
Quoting the last paragraph. “Opponents as well as supporters of this president would do well, again, to consider the Philippines. The same Rodrigo Duterte who enjoyed popular support as he waged war on his own country (and so gushingly praised by Trump) is today behind bars, indicted for war crimes three years after leaving office. Like others who once thought themselves immune, he now awaits trial at The Hague.”
This is why a Ukrainian peace deal is pure fanfic. Putin sees this and knows the US also believes it has the right to invade countries in it's sphere of influence
