There was an overall problem that old Biden never made a persuasive case. They talked about everything being existential, but then their only plan was to win the election. And then he was so old he couldn't even advocate for that. So I agree he probably couldn't pull it off, because he never laid the ground work for it. Which was a criticism of him the whole presidency. Like when they couldn't get voting rights because of Sinemanchin, his answer was nothing.
One of the features of a smaller but focused tent is the singlemindedness of purpose. Conservatism is all about hatred. OTOH, one of the bugs of a big liberal tent is that there are some folks who want everyone's votes, but do not want to support their specific concerns. If you tell me my concerns are too extreme to be a part of your big tent, I'll do my best to see that your life experiences more closely mirror mine.
What's extra funny is that the Dearborn Muslims are probably overall closer to MAGA than to the average liberal. The same could be said of Islam's treatment of women. Basically, the only tie they have to liberalism is the racism they face from Judeo-Christian America.
Actually, I didn't say that trump is the logical endgame of conservatism as that would imply that trump IS a conservative. What I said was that the constant lying and dissembling from conservatives for decades has LED to trump. As to conservatism being a political ideology, my point is that instead of using the lies and misrepresentations for the benefit of the rich and powerful, he's used it for his OWN benefit, personally. Other than that, he HAS no 'ideology' to speak of.

Well.. For one.. Are there still white migrant farm workers? Outside of the owners/managers of the farms, most of the people in farming around here are minorities.
There are a lot of people whose families came to the Central Valley as farm workers years ago and who have the same attitudes. It’s a big part of why that part of the state is solid red and Trumpy.
I'd say your view on Islam is slightly skewed and tends towards the insanity of Iran, Qatar, Saudi, et al, and not the other countries that practice Islam. Islam is no more inherently conservative than any other religion and I'd argue that the Abrahamic religions, practiced correctly, are very liberal bordering on socialist.
