That is a really strange take. Longwell might have grown up conservative, but some time in the early 2010s (maybe before that) realized that her views were not compatible with the way Republicans were going, and broke from them. But she's never been right wing in the way MAGA is, or even how the Tea Party was. So it is really strange to have you blame her being where we are.

The irony is the early period of the bulwark during Trump 1 was a daily exploration of why about 95% of mainstream republicans turned out not to believe in the things they claimed to believe in.
