Not really…the poster here is very specific about what bothers him. Unless you can link to Fetterman not endorsing Harris, this is just a case of two things that are different being treated differently.
He has had a very successful career. He has figured out how to please his masters, and therefore has continually advanced his career. There’s nothing wrong with him. Hate the game don’t hate the player.
While Fetterman is not to my taste, i don't mind him doing things that help position him to hold his senate seat. For instance, running against the party is not a dumb idea to win with the demos he needs to hold (see especially Joe Manchin). Is he doing it in smart ways or has he become just another dem who hates a large part of his own voters? I lean towards the later. Mandami is of course also running against the establishment. Which is also smart and working. But only one gets attacked so wildly with MAGA language about being a traitor. Language that should not be casually applied to minorities in my view. Because it is a dog whistle.
They're gonna have to make a film of your life at some point. The only problem is that the only person who could play you, is you. Anyway, hope your other half is feeling better soon and that your new gig goes well.
Important piece from Greg. Few seem to have realised that in the context of an ascendant fascist/military takeover, normal politics is no longer fit for purpose Inside Stephen Miller’s Secret Plan to Normalize Trump’s Dictator Rule He wants to supercharge searing civil tensions to get low-information voters to embrace their inner authoritarian. Exactly two Democrats appear to fully grasp this. Stephen Miller has a theory about this political moment. As President Trump expands his lawbreaking and dictatorial rule, the powerful MAGA disinformation apparatus—at Miller’s direction—is supercharging public attention to the debate over Trump’s conduct in a way that’s designed to deeply polarize it. That will force Americans to take a side in that standoff, Miller clearly believes, driving them to embrace authoritarian rule, though perhaps without understanding it in exactly those terms. https://newrepublic.com/article/201...ler-secret-plan-normalize-trump-dictator-rule
Fetterman isn't a Republican and despite people complaining, he's still a Dem. He might be an outspoken asshole, but that's who he's always been. He's also voted against Trump's legislation so far. I've mentioned before but I've found that the best way to see how a politician is is to review a conservative's voting profile of him. Heritage has a great collection of data on this, they have a rating and Fetterman's lifetime rating? 7%. Slotkin's is hilariously low, like 2%. They're both people who don't speak like progressives. One thing they have in common is they're in swing states, so I cut them a break. Anyway, keep in mind that not everything is racism, sexism, or whatever ism when it comes to criticism of people who haven't been supportive of Dems.
Yeah - it's basically just the Susan Collins play. There are other reasons to be annoyed with Fetterman and whether he is actually up to the job.
Fetterman is a disappointment to significant elements of his constit'ncy, for reasons including a perceived excess of both-sidesism and for not closing ranks when ranks should be closed. As I've said elsewhere, it's weird as in body-snatcher weird.
What evidence do you have of Fetterman hating his own voters? He might hate certain progressives and given his background (Wealthy, college educated) I would not be surprised if he encountered the type. The issue is there's a select group of people who make it a point to go on about how much they hate Dems, how they will criticize them for some small slight then get upset when they get told to piss off. Goes for Rashida Tlaib, Chappell Roan, goes for Mamdani who is only where he is because his the opposition is so bad. Is Quakes harsh? yes but it's not an ism to criticize people who hurt Dems. Goes for conservatives, goes for certain members of the Squad, goes for that no talent singer Chappell Roan. And for the record, Fetterman endorsed Harris.

He voted for many of Trump's horrific cabinet picks. Definitely a DINO at this point & must be shuffled off to the Old Lurch Home in Monessen ASAP.
While I disagree with the criticism of Mamdani, because his position at the time of the election (note, I'm not disagreeing with the criticism of Tlaib), it is the language used to which I have a bigger problem. "Loyalty" is a word of the right. "Traitor" is a word used to marginalize people of color. Whether each is intentionally being used in such ways, I doubt it. But it has been pointed out to him multiple times, and he doesn't change his language, which is problematic.
Sometimes. Sometimes it’s used to describe traitors. Some people see 0 out of 10 racisms, and others see 20 out of 10 racisms. They’re both off by 10.
There are two parts to this that I'm seeing. One part is that he has a significant part of his state that is not Democratic, and he could used that to show his voters how he is thinking of them. The other part is how weak Democratic leadership is in the Senate, that they can't whip Fetterman into voting against the current funding bill, and he should considering his health issues.
I think there are 3 parts. Clearly its a big part positional. Which is clever. I also think having listened to interviews, he simply isn't well enough to do this job. We need a top communicator and he really struggles to articulate. That's not his fault but the reality is it's not good enough IMO Thirdly for whatever reason he has become a giant arsehole. Some of the stuff he says about working with Trump is highly problematic - before we even get started on voting to fund this regime. I think he either believes he's smarter than his colleagues, or he actually just sympathises with some stuff that has happened. How else could he fund this?
Man.. Talk about your huge misdirect with Fetterman. That stroke of his really changed his personality from what I understand. Hopefully he'll get the boot in the next primary tho.
The white knight act you do is exhausting. You’re also contradicting yourself regarding Tlaib and Mamdani. To paraphrase Paulie Walnuts, when the time came, did they stand up? They didn’t. So it’s rich when people are screaming about Dems not endorsing a mayoral candidate when he didn’t do the same. Then again, it’s a mayoral race and people on here are acting like it’s the next Obama. As for the loyalty thing: The assignment was simple. Want things to be good and not worse? Vote for Harris, do what you have to do to drag her over the line. Tlaib didn’t do it, Mamdani didn’t do it. Lot of annoying progressives didn’t do it. They instead chose to have a fit about a conflict that most voters don’t care about. As I said before, if I, a white dude who is well off can vote for Harris, so can Tlaib and Mamdani. if former Reagan officials can vote for and endorse Harris, Tlaib and Mamdani can too. You can be concerned about your cause once the election is over. There’s a lot of ways we got here. But we do gotta consider that maybe it’s time to tell the progressives to get back in their hole.
