The choice was Kamala Harris vs Donald Trump. Yes, I expect every elected Democrat, at every level of government, to be able support our candidate wholeheartedly when failure to do so means fascism for everyone. Failure to appreciate the gravity of that particular moment (and act accordingly) means you're wholly unfit, for me. That's not even a purity test, its basic common sense.

And then she got hit head on by a drunk driver - the DUI driver's 3rd DUI to be accurate Charge 1 - Domestic Violence Assault (Plead Guilty) Charge 2 - Domestic Violence Assault in the presence of a minor (Plead Guilty) Charge 3 - DUI (Plead Guilty - Sentence Deferred Charge 4 - Assault on an Ambulance Driver (Plead Guilty - Sentencing Deferred) Charge 5 - Actual Physical Control (Plead Guilty - Sentencing Deferred) (Passed out drunk in vehicle) Charge 6 - DUI - Charge Pending Charge 7 - DUI with Great Bodily Harm Next court appearance - 10/23 Fiancee's tibia was broken into 4 pieces, fibia into 2 pieces and the ankle joint was destroyed. They applied an external fixation device for 3 weeks, then fused her ankle and inserted a rod. Sadly, someone didn't clean a scalpel, so, she contracted a MSSA staph infection and had to have two more surgerys followed by 45 days of IV antibiotics, 3 times a day, so she's been recovering at my house and I've added Infectious Disease tech to my repitore of skills I never wanted. Then last Saturday, proving that no good deed goes unpunished, I was mowing my neighbors lawn while they're in the hospital and I stepped on a 1-3/4" self tapping screw some roofer left laying around, couldn't pull it out throught he shoe, so I had to back it out lefty loosey (had my tetnaus shot back in March), finished mowing the lawn, then it got infected, got put on anti-biotics, then it got worse and went to the ER last night and they added more AB's... And this is after I resigned from my employer of the last 6 years who's gone literally insane since the election, UltraMAGA. In the space of 2 hours, he told me to fire an employee with Narcolepsy (which he doesn't believe is real) and I refused, then he made two derogatory comments directed at LGBTQ+ employees and a derogatory staement about Indians (Feathers Not Dots), and then capped off the day asking if the woman that hit my fiancee was "an illegal" (She was just some drunk suburban wine Mom) then told a Hard R N-Word joke in front of me and another principal and giggled like a 7th grader telling a fart joke... So I called up one of the firms that has been chasing me for a year, told them my $$$ number, we agreed and I gave my two weeks the following Monday and let everyone in the company know why. ********ing coward didn't come out of his office all week and the other principals let me leave a week early with pay just so Grandpa would come out of his office.

AOC I think is different. She was part of the Netflix doc Bringing Down the House about women running for Congress. Plus, she is intelligent, driven, and media savvy. I think she'd get noticed anyway. Not to the extent she is now, but certainly, she'd be known.

Funny how a brown mayoral candidate is a traitor but Fetterman, a sitting senator who won't support the Dems in their current fight with Trump doesn't get a mention. Whether or not any individuals animus is racially motivated I have no idea, but it is noticeable a boring kind of moral panic rises up amongst the moderate centrists any time people like Mamdani or AOC get popular.
