Did you not read the rest of my post? Also, why Mamdani and not Tlaib? As a state representative who was unknown, do you think he had a greater impact that Tlaib, a member of the squad and known House of Representatives member?
Meh... I put shit where I get the reply. The mods will sort it out. Of course I'm right. That's life. I'll gloat at that time, if I'm alive.
I don't get why they deployed California's NG to Portland when they got Idaho right next door. Idaho's governor would gladly send the NG into Portland to crack heads.
Because it's a dominance play. Trump can't show dominance over Newsom by sending Idaho National Guard troops.
This is all super primal dominance politics. Getting things done boils down to controlling the agenda and forcing the other guy to react to what you're doing. How did the Democrats become doormats? By losing office and ceding other positions of power and influence to the GOP without a contest. The GOP did the dirty work to organize and take hold of strategically important sectors. The Dems didn't even know which way was up. They still don't.
Not just a dominance play. They were already deployed versus deploying the guard from yet another state. Less red tape. More immediately available.
I knew back in 2016 (when Hillary lost) that we were heading back to the Dark Ages. The right was united around the Supreme Court and taxes. And now look, Roe was overturned and we're inching closer to seeing Obergefell overturned. So yeah, backwards we go until the left can figure out how to unite again like we did for Obama. I suspect you meant forwards but that's not my take.
Catastrophizing Dipshits The Dipshits of Catastrophization The Lords of Dipshittery All great band names. If I'm a dipshit, I'm the same dipshit I was on November 4, 2025, mother ********er. Because I can be without contradiction. Everything I have predicted has come true. YOUR dipshittery, OTOH, has been debunked like Santa and the Great Pumpkin. What's it feel like to have to out me on ignore because every single one of your political opinions were shredded like Mini-Wheats in the harsh light of November 6th? You want desperately to attack me, but you can't, because you now know --EVERYBODY KNOWS-- how miserably wrong you've been about everything on which you have an opinion. Coward-ass coward. Using your ignore list because Trump showed you what America is behind all the melting pot bullshit is cowardly. Coward. Bitch-ass coward.
The US miss blowing shit up this bad? Bombing Venezuela under false pretext won't get the rest of Latin America "in line", it will fuel anti-americanism sentiment in ways that even Washington has not anticipated. This will harden countries like Brazil and Colombia against the US while making the position of pro-American government in the region far more difficult Congratulations, the US will demonstrate to the rest of the world that they are just as bad as Russia. Good luck lecturing anyone when they do the same...like China’s forced reunification with Taiwan
Just as an FYI, Brazil and Colombia hate Maduro and would likely welcome the US overthrowing his government. Since Chavez and Maduro took office in Venezuela, millions of Venezuelans have fled to Colombia (3 million) and Brazil (500,000) and neither country is happy to have them there. That's not to mention the 3.5 million Venezuelan migrants across the rest of North and South America. That's not to say the US should militarily invade Venezuela, or use a false flag to trigger an invasion, just saying that overthrowing Maduro wouldn't necessarily hardened the opinion of S. Americans against the US.
So you are not talking about "getting things done," you are talking about dominance. Or what is driving political discussion. And I would argue that this is not right. Sure, there has been a hard swing in the past decade, maybe even less, but when you say "decades" I don't think that is correct. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking a reduction in poverty, making health care affordable to all, Obergfell, Build Back Better, BLM, trans rights being part of the national discussion, etc. After all, it is easier to tear down than build up.
Disliking Maduro doesn't equal welcoming US direct intervention especially looking back at the track record, involving interference against their own countries. Rightfully so, they'll most likely feel like their next since they are in BRICS/getting closer to them. So yes, bombing Caracas and killing civilians under false pretext would absolutely upset Latin America. You're blind to the message being send to the rest of the region and it ain't a good one
It's the same thing these days. Who holds attention and dominates public discussion? If you've got to make an argument that Dems got things done, you're just proving my point. If they got things done that mattered and that moved public discourse and public opinion, no argument would be necessary. The need for an argument just makes the Democrats seem even more pathetic and ineffective. Tearing things down is doing something too. And a lot faster.
But you said "for decades." Pre-Trump is different than the Trump years. I would say you are misleading in your statement, saying Dems don't get anything done. I would also argue that there is a fair amount of recency bias in your view as well. Doesn't take away from my statement. But it views the world through your lens of doom.
Trump has been on the scene since at least birtherism. Pre-Trump is what? 2007 and before? Because I was around for 2000 and 2004 too. The Dems weren't effective then either. I would say you're just trying to evade my point. We're doomed unless the Dems can shake their weakness and ineffectiveness. First step is for Dems to admit they have a problem ... instead of arguing they don't.
Speak for yourself! The Dean Scream was crazy effective in my book. I may be the target audience for the "crazy" demographic though.
Y'all are ranting against what America has always been and you didn't notice. Read Eddie Glaude and take note of the way idiots dissent with him. Whatever suspension of reality is necessary to ignore the will of the people. This is America. You didn't know.
