Please list channels you never watch or ones you think are pointless. Mine: Discovery Wings (directv 287) All planes/helicoptors all the time. And people watch this all the time? TechTV (directv 354) Nerds nerds nerds. Ok I get that some people would watch something here but I've watched a couple and boy, if you want to see nerds, this is where they are.
i'll second this. when i lived in california, people complained cause just about every cable package comes with aroun 3-5 mexican channels. as a soccer fan i liked them (plus mexican late night shows are really funny high). here in PA there are no mexicans, so instead there's a ton of christian crap.

MTV....there hasn't been any f'n M(usic) on there in years except that TRL trash and then they don't let you see the video without interrupting with a bunch WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS! and "OH MY GOD, HE/SHE'S SO DREAMY"
there are so many unwatchable channels on the sky digital satellite network.. There are about 300 channels.. at least half of them are useless.There are afew channels which show home DIY shows 24/7.. thats says it all really..
I don't know if this is a seperate channel or just a particular show, but I've noticed that no matter where I am in the country, regardless of the time of day, when I flip through the channels the "Ugly nun show" is on. I don't know the name of it, but it's ALWAYS on. You'll just be flipping through the channels and all of a sudden your eyes want to throw up and you just have to scream "God DAMN is that one ugly nun!" And then you continue flipping. I think she did a halloween episode once, because she had a pirate eye patch a while back. Damn scary, that ugly nun.
MTV, VH1, E! Pollute the mind worse than any drug. Well, no, that isn't true at all, but they suck...
Definitely the religious, shopping, and women's channels... talk about a saturated market. MTV and VH1 are just bad imitations of E!, although that channel hasn't been good since they showed Talk Soup. TechTV is alright, but I think it will suck after this merger with G4.
Perhaps it would be easier to list the worthwhile channels? Me I lost my remote months ago and havent missed it at all. Cancelled my cable about a month ago finally. Quite honestly I havent looked back since. The only thing I miss is FSW. But only sometimes, there's only so many ManU games I can stomach.
ANY public access channel. ANY home shopping channel. ANY so-called women's channel. And let's not forget BET.
I like Discovery Wings altho I don't watch it all that much, and my mom watches the Catholic channel sometimes. I've seen that ugly nun too. I hate that channel that shows nothing but infomercials all day long, the Philadelphia Park OTB channel (especially since it's supposed to switch to Playboy at 11 pm but doesn't), and 99% of the crap on digital cable.
I fear the ugly nun. She reminds me of the penguin that went upside my head for eight years of Catholic School at Our Lady of Assault and Battery.
Okay, people. Boomerang shows old TV cartoons and sometimes classic theatrical cartoons - and if you're not an animation buff or nostalgic or on substances, maybe you won't be into it. But as someone who falls into all three categories, I take issues with your dismissal of that fine channel. MuchM is Much Music (right?). That'll be Canadian MTV. Sounds pointless, I know - but they do actually show music videos and they discovered such VJ talents as Qudus. I don't know WTF "WAM!" is, but for some reason they frequently show relatively recent theatrical features -- commercial-free! For example, they recently broacast FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS and BLUE CRUSH. So for someone too cheap to get HBO, this is pretty cool. And to those who disparage the women's networks; give it a rest. I have no love for Oxygen, WE, et al, but OH! has the new ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS episodes, and Lifetime Original Movies is a godsend to those of us who appreciate the finer points of the underappreciated Movie of the Week genre. TechTV has a show that reviews video games. That alone makes it worthwhile. You know what's the most pointless channel? The TV Guide Channel. If you already have satellite or digital cable, you don't need it.
TechTV is ok if only because I want to get it on with Morgan Webb like a rabid badger Religious channels are not only worthless, they absolutely scare me.
