Swansea City are finalising a deal to extend striker Rhian Brewster's loan deal from Liverpool until the end of the protracted Championship season. It would make Brewster, 20, available for the Swans' remaining nine games, with fixtures set to resume on 20 June.
Harry Wilson was largely anonymous in the home defeat to Crystal Palace. To be fair, except for David Brooks, the rest of the Bournemouth team was dismal.
I'm watching Portsmouth v Oxford . Ben Woodburn is on loan playing for Oxford along with former Liverpool youth striker Cameron Brannagan .
he needs to be given a chance next season, we need to know if (a) he is a class above mid-table Championship players or (b) has simply found his level? either way, right now he's doing everything asked of him.
I'm not down on Brewster by any means, just an observation / question .... a number of his goals seem to be fox-in-the-box style. is that typical? I've never seen him play 90 mins, so I don't know he has skills beyond that .... ?
From what I've seen of him and keep in mind that at his age Rhian is far from the finished object . He's got good pace /quickness , decent in the air and is a very good finisher . Unlike Bobby , Brewster is a true #9 and tends to operate in and around the box .A bit of a free kick specialist too . I'd like to see what he could do in between Salah and Mane but it's the old story of development and game time. Is it better right now for him to play every week at Swansea or sporadically at Liverpool?
Elliot is talented but still very young. lots of potential but who knows. Kent is a Rangers player now.
did you mean Harry Wilson by chance? He's a tidy player - but is going to have a lot of trouble making it at Klopp's Liverpool. He doesn't impose himself on games and doesn't have any wow qualities apart from his free kicks. That said - he should have a very nice PL career for at least 7-8 years.
And.......................Brewster scores again today! Good anticipation from Brewster for this goal. A good example of how almost standing still can sometimes leave you in more space than making a run would. pic.twitter.com/m4XPbaM8YA— James Nalton (@JDNalton) July 8, 2020
And just like that, it looks as if Swansea is up into the play-offs. Our lad Brewster with 9 goals in 19 had an almighty big say in that turn of events.
