Agreed, it's more than obvious that it's personal.

It’s a personal issue, we’ve seen these things before in NT teams.

Ferland Mendy wasn’t getting into the France NT in his prime years as well, i think not even as a substitute …

Don't think their coach went out of his way to call anyone but Mendy though like Tuchel is doing. He obviously has a problem with him.

Tuchel would be absolutely stupid to not take Trent. He doesn't have to start but he be used as impact if needing a goal to unlock defences with diagonal balls and crosses from deep.

He's literally Englands best assist / passer available to them lol

There is clearly something going on. Did he not like the TAA Jude bromance? who knows?

But a coach who has to scrape the bottom of a barrel to find a player that did not only leave a camp early disturbing the peace or turned down multiple call ups or who has barely played this season is of course not acting on fairness. Tuchel will call up LBs who can play RBs before he calls TAA.

In that case, he shouldn't be calling up Saka, Rice etc altogether. That excuse would just be a kop out on his behalf.

TAA should be in the WC squad, but clearly he isn’t going to be.Two minds, gutted for him on a personal level as I hope he thrives on the national team, but having the summer off might be best for his health in the coming season.

And Tuchel is a twat, just an absolutely punch able face. He’s going to squander this generation talent.

As a Croat, I welcome Tuchel's decision to leave Trent behind for this WC. Thanks Tuchel.

Arsenal are notorious for skipping international duties to focus on helping Arsenal. White's case isnt quite like that and it caused a stir in England. I think it is peak reaching for Tuchel to go and call up someone like him just to avoid calling up TAA. He doesnt like Jude either so perhaps there is something there.

Makes sense why Tuchel hasn't lasted long at club level really.

I was shocked by this piece of defending in the Barca game. Watch at around 2:44 here.

He is the right fullback, the left winger is completely free and he must be able to see him, but he doesn’t even make an effort to track. Walking and jogging until he knows he can’t get the blame, then sprints when the move is over. either absolutely clueless to the extent he shouldn’t be in a defensive line for a professional football team, or just happy shirking his responsibilities.

Rudiger is out there doing three people’s jobs at the moment. This type of shit makes other people not want to run either.

Personally i am not surprised by any of this, he did the same at Liverpool for years, he's just not a good defender, it's as simple as that, even if he has good moments here and there, the hope was that he was "supposedly" so good on the ball that we wouldn't have to worry about what happened off the ball, that he'd be so threatening no opposing player would dare make runs forward but would rather be much more concerned about him with the ball at his feet (against much weaker teams, maybe, against decent teams, not so much) and that all the other mids would cover for him at some point if necessary

There was much grumbling about players on the pitch having to "play/run for two" in the past on this board, i;e Toni Kroos, now that seems not to matter for a player who isn't even half as good or effective on the ball, i've read it will be a lot better when the team is "coherent" i await that whatever it may look like, some even think he's a better RB than Dani, maybe now that Dani is past his best but at his peak it is not even close IMHO, i think having this kind of player in this position on the team helps to destabalize it, but... i'm just a random fan so....whatever

Let’s not pretend that we carried Marcelo for many years. He was a complete turnstile at left back. I think the bigger problem is that our left back situation doesn’t help make up the defensive differences as which Dani did on the right side for as long as Marcelo was playing, it’s all about balance plus we have Tchoumemi who doesn’t really know how to play DM positionally other than just off of instinct and winning one 1v1 battles. Casemiro is twice the player he is.

Marcelo wouldn’t always track back when he was attacking because it takes a lot of energy to attack the whole flank and then immediately run all the way back. But when the ball was on the other side I don’t remember him refusing to mark his winger. And we didn’t carry Marcelo, he was an all time great leftback and fully played his part in our successes.

Trent isn’t attacking there, he doesn’t need to recover from an attacking sprint or anything like that. He doesn’t have Sergio Ramos and Casemiro defending his zone while he goes forward, he is alone with the winger. I am sure he even checks his shoulder and sees the winger halfway through his amble back to the defensive line, and even then he doesn’t sprint back. Total dereliction of duty, in a game against your biggest opponent.

It makes me respect Rudiger even more seeing how he has to deal with this. If you see him on both goals, he desperately tries to cover multiple opponents whilst the likes of Asensio and Trent are daydreaming. No wonder he slaps people during training.

Yup, thats really shocking. Only explanation could be he really thought we would get an offside call, but even then hes an idiot because you gotta play till the whistle.

Gets a bad grade for me. Spent an entire season either injured or being mostly mediocre. most likely got him past his best, can see him being back in the Premier League after next season.

I think you explained the cause and effect there; spent most of the season injured and never got in a rhythm. Definitely didn't think he was mediocre, and he'll function well in a structured team, unlike this shit show.

For me, Trent is a player that you had to as a finish piece someone not to build around he came at the worst moment possible for the club, which I don’t think is a true indicator of his quality I firmly believe that he’ll have much better season next year, but that’s assuming the club actually gets its act together

Pointless to discuss any player in this mess. Zero structure, mess, chaos. Only Courtois always world class.

I never mind a player not performing due to certain personal issues or issues within the working environment. I do mind not trying, which is what is happening with a number of players.

Why waste a spot on him? He can't defend and will get injured while tieing his laces on the first practice.
