Red Cross: State rebuffed relief efforts

    That's what I've been saying, but the proliferation of liberals hereabouts drowns out the message!

    Many, if not most of us, agree that they will have to answer for a lot. Just curious if you have ever made a similar statement about anyone in the federal government, because if you have I don't remember it.

    I'm aslo for getting rid of DHS , which would include Chertoff

    There's going to be a lot of answering to be done here. Clearly, this was a complete and total botch across the board.

    Red Cross would not even set up within NO prior to Katrina, as their position has been that the city is too vulnerable. After the storm, they admit that they have no rescue capability, but as a relief organization want to offer assistance. The governments wants people to evacuate. Therein lies the problem: if the Red Cross comes in, people won't leave. It's a hard decision, but it was made.
