While I will always welcome anyone into the club, I'm not exactly lit up by the news that someone from Stoke is now a part of Red Bulls. I remember when Stoke was in the Premier League their games were a yawn a minute and the "classic matches" between Sunderland and Stoke were a sure cure for insomnia. That having been said, I recognize no player is responsible for the system the coaching staff at the club prefers to play.
Hopefully he'll come in, help the club, and start making some waves!!

I've seen too many good players leave the club and unfortunately Parker fits that pattern to a tee. A great guy that could always be counted on to give the team a spark (when they were often playing like zombies on the field) is now dealt away. I hope this is somehow all part of the plan to remake the club now that the new Red Bull coach is finally in the building and they have plans to replace him with someone better or just as good.
If it was just purely a move to cut costs, I'll be pretty disappointed.

in January the sides were close for a free transfer in June. I understand the deal now could happen this month. Chicago also interested.

Unfortunately, I get a bad feeling that this is only the beginning. I hope i'm wrong. My greatest fear is that Red Bull corporate in Austria will over-react to the MLS Cup loss by giving the front office guys here orders to blow up the team and start over. Everyone in Red Bull should view this year as finally finding something to build on here. I just hope the next MLS Cup opportunity wont come another 15 years down the road.....

Just discovering this other (yet another) thread related to transfers/offseason. Seems like there's opportunity for some thread consolidation. If people like that idea, I can work on it. Once I figure out the best technique of merging threads/posts.

Recently I had a different kind of "worry". Related to the sale of stadium naming rights to Sports Illustrated  it got me wondering if that was a sign that RB wanted to divest from this NY franchise, removing their prominent name from our home.

MLS Cup aside, we haven't exactly been super successful lately on the pitch, and for sure we have one of the poorest attendance situations in the league. That last point has bothered me for quite a few years now, and therefore I assume it bothers RB, perhaps to the point of doubting the whole investment? IDK

Yeah, I am guessing that this is just a money grab in that some bean-counter back in Austria determined that the marketing benefit from having it remain as RBA was essentially next to nil.
