It depends. the express from Stamford is 47 minutes, the semi-express is 66 minutes. the train from Greenwich is 57 minutes. Also any train that stops at Greenwich or New Rochelle on weekend either originates or passes through Stamford.

 

While I also think you would probably be able to get your season tickets next year, we were told at the hard had tour that buying them this year guarantees you get the same price for your tickets next year (provided I guess you are in the same section) plus of course you get your priority number ahead of others so you can choose your seat earlier and probably get a better choice. They indicated that they will be increasing prices next year although they did not say how much but only for new season ticket holders.

 

Article on the Stadium from the NY times. They say Red Bull New York has about 5,000 - 6000 season ticket holders but RBNY doesnt actually release numbers.

Do you think the stadium will bring new people on board?

I just got an official letter confirming this. Current season ticket holders will pay this season's prices for next season's tickets. You can upgrade or downgrade at this season's prices as well. Only exception is the club seats - anyone wanting those will pay the full amount at 2010 prices. No word on the credit for those of us who made the deposit commitment on Red Bull Arena season tickets several years ago though.

 

They told me they weren't going to do this. It ruins the field at Home Depot

Please understand that many of my suggestions are not directed at you, but at the broader audience of this thread.

 

As you posted, that would be terrible. The field will be trashed.

Wanna bet that the first event isn't a soccer match it's motocross and the trash the field? Either that or over the summer the stupid, boring and noisy motocross trashes the field.

 

Bottom line, they could hold a state fair with pig races, barn dances, xtreme bull riding, and top it with a Clint Black concert, tearing up the field and leaving the cow pies and I'd still find it better than Giants Stadium.

 

does RBA have the space for such an event, like X fighters?

 

yeah they do them in bull fighting rings with are much smaller. So there is plenty of space.

But on a stadium note. It looks as though two of the cranes are no longer on site. And one of them is out side. Does this mean they are going to start skinning the stadium soon?

Hej, what can I say Your stadium will be beatiful - soccer specific stadium!! I'm Chicago Fire fan, but let me tell you I will come to the first game that the red bulls will play there. Our stadium sucks compere to what you will have. To the owners, congragulations!!!

 

well done to the RBNY owners and staff for putting their resources into this visionary project for soccer-- you deserve all the respect and hopefully profits for 'stepping up to the plate'-- now if only, san jose, dc, new england and houston can get their acts together! the flourishing years of mls are just around the corner-- 2011-2015-- when the league will have solid ownerships in suitable stadiums and passionate markets for the soccer-loving supporters-- i suspect that the average league attendance will be over

Just a bit of encouragement for the few who might still need it. I was out at Liberty Stadium in Swansea, Wales a couple of weekends ago. Pictures make it look pretty small, but even at 20,000 seats fully wrapped and a roof, its a sweet venue. 25,000 for you guys is going to be intimate, but it won't feel small by any stretch. And I guarantee that even half full, it will be loud. Swansea has a family section behind the south goal, so maybe only 10,000 of the 16,000 in attendance participated, and it was still a really good atmosphere.

 

I can garantee you that attedance at the new redbull arena will go up dramatically. The # 1 reason why we have the currrent attedance is the way fans are treated by Giant Stadium authorities. We are the shhitthole of Giant Stadium. It's humiliation after humilation for 13 years.

Because of the way a wide-angle lens works, the pictures don't do it justice. Especially the vertical.

The lower tier of both stadiums looks similar in photos, but don't be fooled, there is substantial seating.

Liberty Stadium is probably my favorite in Europe (and yeah, that includes having been to Wembley, Allianz Arena, Hamburg). It is a substantial stadium, but there is an electric intimacy of it where it doesn't take much to make it shake. (And not the same transportation issues getting there and away)
