Wow. I haven't looked at the progress on your stadium for some time. I think the last time I checked in, they were putting in seemingly hundreds of those cement piles all over the place. This is world class. Can't wait.
Have they found Jimmy Hoffa yest? Inquiring minds want to know. Looks real nice. Can't wait to see it with grass on the pitch. Just by having it connect to your train system, you will probably be guaranteed great attendance.
so I'm guessing this covering in the highlighted (or unhighlighted area, however which way you perceive it) is going to eventually wrap around the whole Arena. My question is if anyone knows how far along it is, just wanna know when it'll be popping up in the webcam as I've been taking screenshots of what seems to be no progress for the past few days.
You know the show Mythbusters? They did an episode where the guys traveled to Giants Stadium to see if the stories about Hoffa were true; they ran some sort of ground radar device, and during their tests, they found some odd "anomalies" in the ground . So its very much possible. BTW, when this thing is built and finished, its going to be BEAUTIFUL and definitely an American establishment for soccer. I imagine it would make a wicked concert stadium too (its bound to happen no?)
You must be from LA, heathen. The club took the stage out the equation years ago, specifically because this was to used only for soccer.
That's not to say there couldn't be concerts, but with the Prudential Center and Madison Square Garden right there it doesn't seem likely that RBA will host too many concerts.
This stadium is looking awesome! Great for the Red Bulls and great for the league in general. Does anybody know if RBA will have an "away section" for traveling fans? IF DC United's PG County stadium, the Revs Sommerville stadium and Philadelphia's Chester stadium all break ground, they all should look into creating an "away section," because the rivalry between these 4 clubs is going to be massive in the coming years.
OK, who's got contact info (email, etc) for someone high up in the Red Bulls organization? My girlfriend works in security and wants to put a webcam on the inside of the stadium for free. Because not seeing anything happening for the next 10 months is going to drive us nuts.
for everyone saying that nothing has been done.... there has been A LOT DONE!!!! they are doing the little stuff like elivator shafts and stair cases and soon will be upper deck seating.... just chill guys.... web cam dosnt show much.... but lots is going on....
I don't think anyone's saying nothing's being done. We know a lot is being done. I think people are saying we can't SEE anything being done. And we'd like to. Hence the inside stadium webcam requests.
Mybe it's the way the web cam is situated, but it does not seem like there is a lot of parking available for people to drive up and tailgate. Does anyone know how many parking spots are alocated for RBP and will tailgating be allowed?
No tailgating. They will build a parking deck. I think most fans will be in a pub close to or at the stadium prior to the match.
No tailgating, welcome to an urban stadium. Pubs will be the norm. A little more expensive, but personally I find it awesome that we will have home pubs and a short walk to the stadium. We need to make sure that all the local owners have a "HOME SUPPORTERS ONLY" sign in the window too.
O, im just giddy with excitement for this stadium. I really can't freaking wait. I'm so glad Red Bull is doing this, who cares if we're named after a soft drink!
Unlike some parts of New Jersey, Newark and Harrison both have tons of bars and many are within walking distance, under a mile. So no worries, you'll still be buzzed when you get to the stadium.
I have no real ties to NY Red Bulls, but I gotta say that I am real glad to see another soccer only stadium going up in the USA. Especially in the NYC area. You guys have got to have your own thing. Can't wait to see some MLS and USMNT games at your new home.
The reason I ask is because I have children. We normally tailgate a bit before the game and maybe go to The Bubble for some playing time. The bars wouldn't be much of an option for me in my situation and I'm not sure if the RB will have any activities at RBP like they have now at The Bubble. When you say "parking deck" do you mean like a parking garage with multiple levels? Or is this one Giant Stadium like parking area for maybe 1000 cars (first come first serve and that's it)?
