Hey y'all, Riz and I have been at this too long now, and besides not having time, it seems to us this forum could really use some fresh blood at the top. In addition to not having the same amount of time/energy we did to keep the forum in the order it deserves, it's more than just keeping things in order - it's adding to the forum in new, creative ways. Frankly, I can't say that either of us have been able to do that in a while. WestCoastFutbol has stepped up to help be our "gameday" mod since he is usually not AT the games, and can help with Pre/PBP/Post duties. Please nominate folks in here, or if you like, PM me. Last time we tried this no one really stepped up. Well, someone has to this time because we're stepping down either way. I have several folks in mind but would like to see what the community thinks first. Thanks!
I thought this thread was going to be the highly anticipated reality show only to be shown in Indonesia.
As someone who is on this board just about all day, I would do it. Not sure you would want someone like me with the keys to this sweet whip though!
I nominate bigredfutbol just so he has the excuse to step down from the Soccer in the USA forum. He's been punished enough.
Years ago Riz asked me to step up and help, and I backed out at the last minute. I know you asked for a PM, but since my name came up already, feel free to consider me.
Matt Mathai. He hasn't been around for a while and why should the mods be any different from the rest of the DC United forum contributors?
I didn't realize it has been three years since I was asked by @Sachin. Things could have been very different around here.
Brilliant. I propose @MattMathai , @revelation , or @MeridianFC . I'll leave @Knave and @ursula alone since we already have a west coast guy.
I have enjoyed the gig. Bummer for the season results, although the US Open Cup will be nice. We started off the season with a pre/pbp/post threads but when the threads were thinner than silk on the back of a hairy mammoth, we just went to one thread. There appear to be lots of DC posters that have just resigned away the year, maybe being a moderator will recharge the energy. Much to look forward to as a DC fan including but not limited to a new stadium. I hope Morrissey would like to take over as West Coast mod, if not, I am happy to stay as I am not quitting on the team.
I can game day mod for the home matches if necessary. Someone just needs to fill me on what that actually entails. I'm not quitting the team - just the f/o, coaching staff, physio, groundskeeper, interns, and Pajoy. Cheers, James
As the original DC Mod and then as a re-tread, I have no interest in coming back for a three-peat. Most of the posters that know me are gone and I believe that a new generation should have their moment in the sun instead of some old has-been reliving glory days.
Matt Mathai would definitely ensure that postings contained proper grammar and syntax. This would put unaccustomed pressure on posters. Irregardless, I like the idea.
I tend to agree. Anyone who can use the phrase "back in the day" when talking about this board probably shouldn't be modding it today.
