The only recruit rankings (individual) I am aware of, are the ones from Rise Mag. They list the top 30.

Are there any current rankings out there that go further, like the top 50/100 or 150?

Also does anyone have any info on Tori Huster from Cincinatti? According to SoccerBuzz, she is an FSU commitment.

Don't know of any out yet, but one note about Rise... They typically only rank players coming from the more competitive H.S. soccer programs. Players not even on the mag's radar -- are the ones who forego school ball to either play other varsity sports or concentrate on club ball, and high level club/regional players who are standouts on the weakest H.S. teams (who never make it to a playoff).

Soccer Buzz' list seems to be a bit more comprehensive, in my opinion, but then again -- it's not perfect either. It all depends on who compiles the lists and what the criteria is for selection. Very subjective if you ask me... But a lot of fun to check out, all the same.

I'm not sure that the rankings have any special meaning on several levels.

First off, it seems that those rankings are either based on performance at the club level, or at the high school level. any evaluation that ignores the other level is by definition incomplete.

Second, some of those evaluations are based on information the club or school coach hands in to the evaluating institution and on local press.
If the press is uninformed and/or the coach is lazy, there are going to be players missed.

third, players are still maturing, and some players aren't in the right position to have their talents showcased. The opposite is also the case. a player may do well in club, but gets into a situation where they are expected to succeed right away or get lost in the shuffle.

fourth. some players just need someone to "turn the lightbulb on"
Sometimes it can just take one coach to show a player the things he/she is missing. when that happens, sometimes magic happens.

Tori Huster is a very dynamic midfielder with the technical ability to deliver whatever type of pass is needed to set up her teammates, beat defenders 1v1 when needed and is also very good in the air. IMO, however, her greatest strength is she can score anywhere inside of 30 yards with an exceptionally strong and accurate right foot.

    Thanks for the info.
We don't usually get info on our signees for quite some time.

Do most schools put a release out with signees right away? I know for Penn State it takes for ever and it drives me nuts. Just wondering what the norm is.

From what I have noticed, most of them don't. Of those that do, Texas A&M does the best job of those I have seen. Go to their Soccer Website and check out the big production they do.
