Recording of DC United/KC Game

Any chance Hunt Park Insider will tree this one like the NE match?

 

I live in Fairfax and can put it on DVD for you if you want a copy.

 

I've got it on DVD, but I'm not really sure I want to share with DC fans.

 

I also need a recording of this game. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I was in a Texas hold'em tournament last weekend. It was a two day affair, and I unexpectedly survived thru Saturday. Sunday at 3 pm I went all in so I could watch MLS Cup. Unfortunately I won the hand ( 3 4's). So I went all in the next two hands and won those!! At that point I had a chance to win the tournament so I stayed in and got periodic updates from the casino bar. It turns out I finished in 3rd (lost on a full house! Some guy had a better full house!). Anyway, my lucky DC jersey almost got me the big money.

Anyway, if there's somebody out there who could get me a copy of the game I'd really appreciate it!

I hate posting "me too" as my first BigSoccer post, but I desparately need a DVD of the game. My wife and I were out of the country, and we wandered from bar to bar seeing if anyone had "the American football league championship" on their satellite.

They didn't.

How much did you end up gaining on the weekend?

 

My brother in law is going to take my tape, edit the commercials and the halftime nonsense and put it on DVD. I hope he can get to it this weekend, but if not, maybe after the Thanksgiving holiday. I can dupe a few more on my computer. I'll post when I get this in my hands.

If my wife or any family member is lurking, a DVD recorder would be sweet under the tree

 

Just got my DVD copy from my brother in law this evening. This is a nice job. First, he edited the annoying halftime show, then he edited out the commercials at the end of the game. When you start the DVD, you have some music and a picture of the MLS Cup 2004 logo before the game starts. There is a little static at at the bottom of the screen for the first five minutes of the match unfortunately, the result of a poorly made tape by Fuji but it's hardly noticeable.

There are two DVD's. Part I ends when Gros is being substituted into the game after Dema's handball. Part II takes you from minute 60 to the end, including the agonizing six minutes of extra time and the trophy presentation.

This really came out well. It's too bad my bro in law is busy like there's no tomorrow or else I would have had him stick in some more music afterwards but overall, I think he did a kick ass job.

I've made a copy for someone in exchange for the NE playoff DVD. In the next week I can make five more DVD copies of DC-KC and I'd like to get these copies to people with DVD burners so they can in turn burn copies for others. After the holidays I can probably burn more for those in need.

It would be cool if we could get some artwork to go along with this. Anyone have any ideas?

This is just to tide us over until the club issues their official DVD for sale

Any chance of ripping this XviD or something and then seeding it for bittorrent?

 

The only seeding I am familiar with is Scotts and I usually do it twice a year at my house

This is way too technical for me but maybe someone else can do this.

 

I would be more than happy to replace your DVD in exchange for a copy of the game.

Got a couple more requests which I will get out this week.

I'm asked if I want reimbursement and the answer is no, I don't mind doing this at all. However, if you want this DVD and you have a few extra bucks left over after holiday shopping, please take a moment and send something to Mike Petke's Kick the Violence Foundation. I believe you can send donations to United for DC and specify where it goes. I played golf with Mike this past September in the charity tournament and he's a good guy and I know he'd appreciate it.

I designed artwork for the MLS Cup DVD that Bill is sending out. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll send you a PDF of it that you can print out and trim to fit a jewelbox.

 

Everyone who requested a DVD of the KC and/or Revs game should get their DVD copies next week. My wife and I mailed our Christmas presents today and included in our trip to the post office was everyone's DVD packages.
