There was a second ball sitting on the field right outside the keeper's box when the fourth goal was scored!

    It's finally over.

Pachuca played with 10 for the last ten minutes.

It was a promo. The reason they wore it because they won their version of the "triple crown" (Libertadores, Mundial and Recopa). Personally, I always thought the triple crown would be the national title, Libertadores and Mundial which no Brazilian team has done.

lo veo y no lo creo.....this is not pachuca thats for sure.....gamewise, im thinking maybe they came to Brasil too relaxed, not expecting a team that is effective, otherwise i cannot explain this surpising result.....as long as they represent Mexico with more dignity in the world cup.....

dude, they lost a one game cup. That does not undermine any of all the recent titles they've won.

    No seas ardilla.

I can't say this doesn't feel great. This might even be better than Barcelona getting whipped 4-0 by Getafe.

I wonder how the press will try to excuse Pachuca now and cover their ass.

And I applaud Pachuca and what they have done and all respect to them. I just hate how that in Mexico turns into, you can't say crap about them at all.

The were tired from playing in so many tournaments and getting so far in all of them.....at least that would be my guess.

If America, Chivas, Cruz Azul or whoever had done the same, they wouldn't say crap. It's Pachuca and they will find a wait to excuse it. They said the PK was bogus, they will just grasp at that.

The press (especially media that attacks teams that pertain to Televisa's programming) really love to ride Pachuca's nuts. Morelia got the same treatment when they were the flavor of the month some 4-7 years back.

what gets me is that they want to paint this team as the best team of the decade when in fact, out of 18 possible playoff, they failed to qualify to 8 of them. They also failed to defend their title 3 out of the 4 times because they did not make the playoffs.

My thing is.... if you are going paint out team to be bigger than what they really are and paint them out to have all this history and tradition (which they do not have),then they better receive the grand treatment (both when they win and when they lose).

participating in CONCACAF Club tournament isnt really a big deal. That tournament is planned taking the MFL schedule into account which is why there isnt a scheduliing conflict (ie playing 4-5 games in 8 days)

However, Libertadores and Sudamericana is a different story alltogether. Those tournaments belong to another confed and pertain to a different type of league calender that do not coincide with ours. That is why the MFL has difficulties scheduling because of these 2 tournaments.
