    Hey True Believers,

Just checking in on you good folks and letting you know whats going on.

    News from Spain
Yesterday I gave a phone interview with the Vitoria public radio station in Spain concerning the California Victory and our plight to own the team.

I also have been in recent contact with their supporters group. Big thanks to the our big brothers is Spain for spreading the word across Europe. They have been emailing me with kind notes, wishing us luck.

I was told by their supporters that Dmitri owned the Vics, oddly enough, Dmitri told us that Alaves owned the Vics....interesting, isn't it? Even more interesting is the claim that the Vics cost Alaves over $2 million dollars. I must still be woozy from last Saturday's smoke bombs and flares.

    New on the Rumor Mill
Well, actually its not a rumor, but a fact. Ipswich Town of the Coca Cola Championship League has been making recent calls to the front office with investment questions. Are they calling out of morbid curiosity, or are they generally looking for a break in the American market? Mmmmm... Hopefully, the Tractor Boys will see us as a great place to start.

    General Support
The Brazilian Beach Soccer Festival is this month in San Francisco September 30th and I hope that both Morales and Silva register, especially considering that they are both part of the 2007 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Title winning US men's team who were triumphant against Uruguay last month securing their second consecutive title.

    That would be awesome!
Both of my parents spent many years working on a tractor plant in Lipetsk, Russia.
I, myself, worked on the same plant for a few months back in 1990-91.

One more reason to support the San Francisco Tractors for me :)

    Hi friends,

I am an Alavés supporter from Vitoria-Gasteiz.

The last week I reported in my website www.babazorros.com the last bad news about Victory and now here in Vitoria there is a lot of consternation with this problem.

I am very worried because I have a special affection with Victory and looking all the photos of you, the supporters of the team I can't imagine the desaparition of our team.

Piterman is a worst manager, now Alavés is in a very very bad economical situation because in the three years of Piterman in Vitoria he didn't pay anything

    Good luck Victory!

Now actual manager of Alavés, Fernando Ortiz de Zarate, writte a letter speaking about Victory situation:
    He says that:
    1. Piterman haven't got any relationship with Deportivo Alavés.
    2. The Victory situation is now being value by new owners of Alavés.
    3. When the new owners take a resolution will be actions with the San Francisco team.

Wow, this is getting good. So, according to Mr. Piterman and this letter from President Zarate, Alaves owns the Vics. This confirms my thoughts that, a)all announcements from day one indicated that Alaves owned the Vics, and b)Piterman would never risk his own money on this top of money-losing venture.

So, how does this impact any potential sale of the Vics? Guessing it has to run through Spain now...

In a way these are good news !
It meant that CA,Vics has ownership capable of keeping the team running (or playing for that matter :D )

The bad side of it is that, the Alaves organization legaly CAN give up the team
and bring us back to the situation where we are seatting right now :( in other words no changes for our beloved team.

I think we should sent emails to Spain and show the Alaves, that the Victory has fan base and that, it 's worth to invest in the U S.

    GO VICS !!

Good point. Now that we are starting to find out who actually owns the Vics, we can at least approach them and let them know that there is an effort to save the Vics.

    Ipswich Town Update
Just received word on Ipswich Town. A former unnamed player is spearheading interest in the Vics, and only the Vics. Thats all I got for right now. I'll be keeping my ear to the wall.

    I don't think so.
Here Alavés is injured and with a lot of debts generated by Piterman. We are in the worst situation of all our history...

It has to be encouraging that you have the new Alavés owners and not Pieterman. At least the new owners might, I say might, do the good thing and keep CA Vic alive. Pieterman is definetly done with it.

With that said, the other shining light is the possibility of Ipswich Town taking over for Alavés directly. Now if Alavés wants to give up on the Vic maybe they can give it to Ipswich Town.

    Thats a positive.

Worse case is Ipswich Town is not interested, Alavés is not interested and won't sell to SaveTheVictory.org.

Sorry but I don't see how Alaves owning the team is a positive. That club is in dire straits. Piterman left them bankrupt and now they are dead last in the 2nd division and will be very lucky not to get relegated this season.

My heart goes out to the Alaves supporters. Here's a team that's been part of the fabric of the community for generations. They were UEFA Cup finalists earlier this decade, and in two short years under Piterman they have seen their beloved team torn apart and now could find themselves down in the 3rd tier of Spanish soccer.

I just can't see how Alaves could keep the Vics around as their is no doubt the Vics are only adding to the losses.

Now Ipswich Town appears to be a club headed in the right direction which may be capable of supporting the Vics. They are in the hunt for promotion to the Premiership next season.

Piterman has shown that he doesn't care and will probably only sell Victory if there was money it for him.

On the other hand, the new Alavés owners, if they can't take care of Victory for themselves, might at least do whats best for the fans in SanFran. That possibility did not exist with Piterman.

Somehow the fact that the Vics are in Alaves's hands might mean some good news for us. Hummm...

2 Million lost by Alaves on behalf of the Vics sounds like a lot 'tho. Not good..

Man if they lost 2 mil on the Vics they better check Pitermans bank account cause I don't think the team saw that money.

No joke, DA. I wonder if Piterman has done any recent improvements to his house in Berkeley?

But they would have definitely have had to spend at least a million just to cover the basics: travel, rent, refs, league fees, and very minimal salaries. Throw in the franchise fee and you're talking about $1.5 million dollars.

My guess is none other than one Phil Scicluna. Former Ipswich man and founder of goalmexico.com. Phil knows Van Straatum from Bay Oaks Soccer club. I could be wrong but thats my guess.

Here in Vitoria majority people think like you. A lot of problems we have here now and we can't imagine a lot of more debts coming from San Francisco...

The worst thing is that Piterman there is playing with the name of the historic Alavés and he now is nothing in Alavés.

I wish that you can get the money and you can save the Victory. Good luck from Vitoria-Gasteiz!

No new news to report and I could not agree more about the name. I would honestly like it to be San Francisco FC but they will probably keep the name.
