Re: Pearl Jam: Vs. - I borrowed a bunch of Doors stuff from a friend and was really digging on it, so I figured I'd get some for myself. - I've heard people rave endlessly about Sigur Ros, so I decided it was time to see if the hype about these Icelanders is for real or not. - White Stripes. I like the other two I have, so I figured I'd round out the collection. - Les Claypool is a freak and I've always enjoyed his bizarre sense of humor and music. - Pearl Jam. Decided to go back to high school on that one. I may grow tired of it in a week, but I doubt it. - String Cheese Incident. That's a great live album. I used to have it and I'm getting it again. Got to love any album with a bluegrass cover of an Aerosmith song.
I was actually going to get Binaural at your suggestion, but they didn't have it. They had every other PJ CD under the sun except that one.
I accidentally edited your post. I mean to hit "quote" and hit edit instead and I had already updated before I realized I'd chopped your post to bits. I forget I have "mod powers" in here.
Last night, I bought some shows off of www.livephish.com .I think it is cool that all proceeds from their downloads go to charity since they're bajillionaires already. Also, I recently discovered www.archive.org/audio nothing like bands allowing high quality downloads for free!
Re: Robert Walter's 20th Congress: Giving Up The Ghost Now that I've been listening to this a few weeks, I must say I really, really like it. There are 1 or 2 tracks on here that don't do it for me, but the other 10 are fantastic. "Dump Truck" is the clip that loads automatically when you pull up his website and it is a fantastic tune. Other strong songs include "Sacred Secret" (horrible title), but it is kind of like a frentic, gospely Blues Brothers kind of sounding thing. "Easy Virtue" is another funky good one.
I'm glad that someone other than myself think binaural is PJ's best work. I thought I was the only one.
Maybe that's why the record store didn't have it the other day. Hang, I'm suprised you're a PJ fan. Seems quite un-you in some ways.
Really, how so? They are definatley one of my 5 or 6 favorite bands. It wasn't until Yield and Binaural that I really started loving them though, then I went back to the older stuff and loved that too.
I don't know why, for some reason they just didn't seem to mesh with morissey and phish. of course, i like all three, so i don't know why i'm suprised
Anthony Hamilton - Comin From Where I'm From Even tho Jermaine Dupri (who sucks) is involved, it's a REALLY good CD.
