Let's ********ing go. No way RM won't sign player who shine in WC. it's tradition and this time he player team needs badly. Let's go
I think it will also massively help Huijsen….having Rodri in front of him matches his football a lot more. Game changer.
Totally. He was one of our best players at the beginning of last season, when we were optimizing for control Mourinho and Hujisen had a history and called Dean as one of the biggest talents in football. Confidence boost and coaching can help a lot here The stars are aligning nicely for him, especially we arent hearing much news about a new starting CB these days
I would be immensely disappointed if the summer ends with getting Cucu, Dumfries, Konaté and Bernando for combined 75M. I like the Rodri transfer, it rounds up the summers strategy of "win now, win for a few years" since they're all 27 or older and we had 2 trophyless seasons. You have prime Mbappe, Courtois, Cucu. You need to be winning La Liga and deep runs in UCL.
I doubt people will change their mind about them thinking Vini should have won the Ballon d'Or... that was a robbery.
🚨🇦🇷 Real Madrid are ready to give the green light to Franco Mastantuono’s exit on loan this summer. No buy option clause; straight loan as Mastantuono seen in similar position as Endrick in January.More than 5 clubs in Spain and abroad, on it.🎥 https://t.co/u1nM8kA5mK pic.twitter.com/wS16COrbw3— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 22, 2026
I'de take him if the alternative is not getting a playmaking CM and Olise only. I just hope the contract is 3 years or less.
If we get Rodri and we're playing 4-2-3-1, Rodri and Tchou will most likely play the double pivot in most matches. Players are being loaned out like Mastantuono and Asencio, which is good to see... But, there are still squad role overlaps I hope to see addressed in some way before the season officially starts. 1]Is Jude or Arda our CAM? 2]Where is Valverde playing, right wing? 3]What is Bernardo's role? 4]Is Brahim a sub or a reserve? 5]What are Camavinga's expectations when it comes to minutes? 6]What are we doing with Rodrygo once he comes back around January? 7]Where is Endrick expected to play, and how often? 8]Reports now suggest Gonzalo Garcia will also stay, what can he expect except warming the bench? 9]Ferland Mendy is back and training with the team. Are we ok to just rest him and give him crumbs while he's on a high salary? 10]I am shocked we're actually going into a new season with no agreements with Vinicius, and no exit transfer being even mentioned as possible.
🚨 NEW: Real Madrid players want the club to SIGN Rodri. @La_SER pic.twitter.com/519dI4I02X— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) July 22, 2026
I wonder, if we sign Rodri, would Cama understand that he'd get even fewer minutes than he initially expected and that the best thing for both him and the club would be for him to move to another team?
🚨 JUST IN: Real Madrid are ready to give the GREEN light to Franco Mastantuono’s exit on LOAN this summer. @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/rtyCN3A9n7— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 22, 2026 🚨 More than 5 clubs in Spain and abroad are INTERESTED in Franco Mastantuono for a LOAN deal. They’re on it. @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/Olycpy5Ssi— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) July 22, 2026
What is hard to comprehend is spending 100m on Endrick and Franco, for players who will never contribute in a meaningful way for at least 3 seasons, lucky to recoup 25% of the initial outlay when we look to sell them. But balk at bringing in a player who would immediately improve our squad for about half the spend.
I think Endrick may be able to contribute already, and really did look like a massive, massive talent at the time. Franco, while obviously talented, was a bit of strange business, as he didn't seem like an 'unmissable talent' and we already had similar (young) players with his profile in the team. In addition, those funds could have been redirected towards more pressing needs, which we didn't address at the time. I just fail to see the projected future for him at the club, but who knows.
Endrick's value would only increase if we let him stay on at Lyon. Striker market is so thin that Ligue 1 flops like Ramos cost a fortune still. If Mou prefers Gonzalo, better not to waste Endrick on the bench.
Gonzalo is, but in the Morata role. I would have liked to see him just leave the club. Just not a place for him to be unless Mourinho recovers the kind of relationship he had with Jose Callejon.
For me Endrick and Franco were a continuation of a successful strategy to bring in the brightest prospects early for reasonable amount to gradually refresh the squad. It looked successful because it started in 2017 with Vini and in the process we got Rodrygo, Tchouameni, Camavinga, Jude - all of them contributed massively for the 2 most recent CLs. Now we are doubting this strategy because we have a bunch of promising, young midfielders but something is missing as it is not working as expected. Also, some of these players progress stagnated and didn't reach what was projected.
