Fair, but Lewandowski was better, so in hindsight, Bayern didn't get better if you really think about it. It's a small group, but there are people (former players of the club included) saying the club has to consider moving into a new direction next summer at the latest.
Rodri is supposed to join as a starter. All the players you named I considered backups. He's not joining Madrid to be a Tchouameni alternative.
Just a small remark: there is no way you considered a player like Alaba a backup when he joined. The rest, with perhaps the exception of Rudiger (who joined to fight for a starting spot and had the ability and contract that reflected it), I think are fairly inarguable.
Who is the missing piece Perez will buy?Olise?Enzo?Rodri?one more signing I expect..and few more sales/loans
City will be motivated to renew Rodri on 3 year deal probably. Doubt they are seeing Bouaddi as starter right away for a team aspiring to compete for CL and PL. He will be a rotational player. If Rodri wants to leave and RM shows serious interest, maybe City won't stand in his way for the right fee. As things stand, renewal at City is more likely.
He was saying the opposite just before the final lol. Mario has been on fraud watch this entire summer. Kept saying Tcho is on the market without a clue that renewal was finalized and took sudden U turn when that got reported. 2079124198417387870 is not a valid tweet id
Bouaddi had one truly impressive game and it was vs Carlo's midfield, the kid was average to below average in the rest of the games..no way he becomes a starter at City for at least 2 seasons..
Yeah Brazil made Norway’s midfield look like prime Xavi and Iniesta, wouldn’t put too much weight on his performance against them. Kid looks talented though but I haven’t watch much of him admittedly. The price quoted seems excessive either way.
Don't know about Tchouameni, sell Valverde for Rodri..I don't rate him as a CM and don't see him wanting to play RW long-term without causing problems..we already have the box-to-box covered with Bellingham..
Pretty sure it will be Tcho - Rodri double pivot for Mou if we sign Rodri. In a fictional scenario where Rodri is sole DM and Tcho gets sold, don't think it can work defensively as Fede will have to cover so much ground. Would put a lot of stress on Rodri's legs as well.
Rodri this summer and Olise next summer if Vini doesn't renew makes sense from a balanced team building perspective. Rodri, Tcho, Fede midfield has bases convered in terms of workrate and tempo setting from Rodri.
There's a bit of movement for him to leave Real Madrid in the French press, that the club isn't the right place for him to make another step. I don't know what the player himself wants, but I think if he wants out the club will oblige.
I think renewal agreement is done as he's key for Mou. Hawkins, Romano reported and JFD and co too agreed after taking a U turn.
You're going to laugh but Olise is what Di Maria would've been if he wouldn't look like a white Steve Urkel.
All jokes aside (I agree with the point you're making), Di Maria was an excellent, top-tier player. However, from having seen both players fairly often, I do think there is one major difference between Olise and Di Maria (for me): Olise, apart from being a technically more gifted player (Di Maria was no slouch btw), seems to be way less wasteful in possession, making him a more valuable player in certain set-ups. Admittedly, my impression isn't backed by numbers, just my own eyes. Then again, maybe I just like (false) wingers that provide a bit more to the overall game than just score and assist. It's one of the reasons why I preferred Ribery to Robben back then.
Contrary to most I don't think Dumfries will just be a backup either True but from what i've seen, both with the national team and Bayern,IMO Di Maria worked harder, all game long, Olise can be too nonchalant at times
Di Maria's shot was better. Actually very underrated, plus logenvity puts him high up the list. End of the day the noodle was a very underrated player mostly because he wasn't on any magazine covers or promos for the big brands.
It seems we are all in agreement about Di Maria being a spectacular player and underrated. A unique situation on RMBS!
One of the shrewdest signings we ever made. Reasonable purchase price at the right age, improved, won with us, and was sold for great money.
