If the club's doctors aren't convinced that Mendy can come back in any meaningful way, I think the club should just buyout the remainder of his contract to get a rosterer slot open. Dude isn't gonna retire on his own while he's being paid tons. I don't think any of us here would either.

The medics already advised against renewing Mendy but the club went with it anyway after rejecting Carlo's request for Kane and then Havertz.

Mendy contemplated retirement after his last injury per reports. The guy could very well end up in wheelchair if he continues playing.

Enzo is fantastic and would level up the midfield. A player I really liked to watch for a while.

If they get him they have improved the team a lot so far.

They've only signed good football players.

He’s a good player no doubt, but I question his fit. He has struggled in the deeper position with Chelsea and had to be moved up to the 10 where he’s been much better, needless to say we’re stacked there. We have a lot of square pegs in round holes and it feels like we’re taking a (big) risk trying to fit yet another one.

If management is willing to drop that sort of money then might as well go for the likes of Anderson or Wharton. Admittedly I haven’t watched much of Bouaddi but seems like the profile we should be targeting.

He ranks really high in passing under pressure and plays on his feet a lot. Other than Tchouameni a lot of the players on the midfield fall down/chase too easy and overreach on almost everything.

I struggle to see why fit matters when the problem in the past few years has been trying to force fit players into roles that are not even relevant right now.

Yeah it’s not about his skillset solely for me, case in point Arda and Jude; on paper both have traits which should allow them to play in a deeper position but is that their best position? They can probably do a job there but both excel at playing in the attacking 3rd IMO. Ditto Enzo IMO.

If we’re paying 100+ ME for a player we better be 100% certain he’s a perfect fit for the role he’s brought in for. Based on his time at Chelsea and from what I heard from their fans, it’s not clear where his best position is. For his NT he seems okay playing the 8, so he may be good to go, but I’d rather have a sure thing for that amount. The last thing we need is another tactical dilemma.

This is really unique to have a buy back from another top European team.

Has he struggled in the deeper position? He’s naturally a central mid.

My gripe is Chelsea overpaid for him slightly and we’re going to do the same whilst Chelsea look to recoup their fee, €130/140m isn’t a fair price imo, we’re overpaying, but if he turns out to be a long term tempo setting solution then who cares about the extra €30/40m, that fee gets lost in the detail over the coming years.

I'm warming up s little about an Enzo signing

Watched his highlights for Argentina and Benfica when he played deeper and he has quality's there

For Chelsea he was shit cause I watched a lot of games but if he is used right I can see him in a double pivot with Bernardo...someone who is better with the ball....

Chelsea have a very good passer playing deep in Caicedo and Enzo was the only top tier option for box to box role. While Enzo plays DLP with Argentina as they have Rodrigo De Paul as box to box midfielder.

JFD says Camavinga or Tcho which doesn't make any sense as it's back up being sold or starter.

Article also said no chance Bayern will this summer. Bet Mou must be only concerned with realistic targets while ignoring Alvarez bid, Olise talk etc.

Both Tchoameni and Fede need to be sold

Tcho didnt live up to the expectations ,Fede has been lost in the past 2 seasons, without Kroos and Modric his limitations have been badly exposed.....his leadership qualities were very overated ,he is the worst captain in a long fn time ,bitch in the locker room....and he got his ass kicked SELL

Jude,Arda,Pitarch,Bernardo,Enzo,Camavinga enough midfielders,Brahim may stay too,Endrick will get a lot of playing time on the right wing so 1 midfielder less on the pitch in some games

    Sell them both

Sell Tchouaméni? And who’s handling the pitchside bar fights then? We already know Fede can’t take him.

Arda would be one of the last players I sell on this team. I still think Tchouameni will be the one to go. And if we go after Olise, it's only if Vini is leaving. Vini to Bayern and Olise to RM, and we pay them 50-100 on top?

I like Tchou. I think he's a solid player. Consider the fact he's been playing the last 2 years with counters that start unopposed before they meet his line. If we approached our defensive transition in a more organized way I think you'd come around too. Definitely not a Makelele or Vieira, but a solid player most of the time.

Wouldn't be a fan of selling him without having someone else of that profile.

Pep wanted Neymar in 2013 and Bayern said no due to wage structure. Kane earns 15 ME nett and Vini apparently wants 30 ME nett. Don't see Bayern as a possibility.
