I think he’s going to do well at Betis. Him, Isco and Antony make them a fun watch.

 

Betis had CL money this year. This move had to happen this summer.

If Ceballos had waited for next summer, Betis is likely not in the CL and does not have as a nice of a contract on the table for him.

It probably made financial sense for him to relinquish his last year of salary at Madrid to make it happen.

 

I think Jose sees Tchouameni as the only DM in the team, and I think there is no a chance he is sold. Matheus is probably linked to us as a depth option, Camavinga is more of a Bellingham/Valverde backup than a defensive minded option, which makes sense to me. He is too error prone and his awareness is not that great for a pivot, great energy and skill though, can still end up as a great option if freed up.

 

It's a horrible deal if it costs that much. You could just go hijack the Anderson deal for that much, and I promise you he'll give you more.

 

I'm sorry, but that much for Enzo? I'd cross him off the list without hesitation if those are the amounts required. I don't care that Chelsea paid 120/130 for him, they overpaid. We shouldn't, even in the current market. Good player btw, don't get me wrong, but not for that fee and he's not what we need.

Maybe I'm foolish but I'm not buying the Enzo and Matheus rumors. Just doesn't make sense for me.

We aren't spending €90-130M on a rotational player in any position. That isn't even someone that it would make sense to replace a bench player like Camavinga or Ceballos with his exit.

So if you bring Enzo as your starter who sits? Your only DM? Your captain? Your English superstar?

Is Bernardo just a bench player and happy to play minimally until late winter? If that's the case why bring him to take minutes from Arda?

It would only work with Tchouameni anchoring with a 3-man midfield of Enzo-Jude-Fede in front behind Vini-Mbappe.

 

Mario mentioned Kees Smit as 3rd option on the list. And he'd cost around 60 ME and AZ has given Mendes the responsibility to negotiate as interim. Only makes sense if Mou doesn't rate Pitarch as rotational option though.
