Then again, just like he came after the last guy, by then the next guy will be there, as we figure out that individuality is shrinking in comparison to the past and the majority of the top players become more and more great athletes with good enough skill to bring it on the field.

The worry to miss out on a player is practically non existent to me.

WC right wingers are hard to come by. So when an opportunity arrives you just have to pounce. The LW market gets new supplies of super exciting prospects often but not on the RW.

I tend to disagree, mostly because i link can't miss out players with guys like Zidane, Ronaldo, etc. True difference makers.

If PSG gets him, they will sell Barcola for a good fee to Pool. Dembele missed 80+ days last season so if his body breaks down, they can shift Kvara to false 9 role and Doue, Diomande on the flanks.

Teams can definitely make do without buying a top RW for example as we have shown. But wingers that can destabilise opponents dont come around often enough. There arent players out there on the level of the players you mentioned so you have to adapt to the level of the talent that is available right now.

    Nah.

My brother is Chelsea fan, says he plays as a 10, not as CM/DLP/which I believe we need the most in MF, and we have 5 AM's.

Bernardo's signing makes Enzo's less necessary, however if he is a DLP like Kroos was then sure.

    How about Stiller ? :D

6.1, can pass, control tempo, etc.

Wasn't he a DLP before being moved upfield this season?

Anyone who regularly watches Chelsea here?

Amorim had a clear vision though, wanted the team to play aggressive and to control games.
Carrick is more of a Carlo then a Pep from what I've red which its fine I guess, but his man utd likes to counter.

No clue who's "better" but I like both.

I am. We won't get Vitinha or Neves, so he's the best playmaker option available in the market. Even though he's versatile, DLP should be his position imo to utilize his long range passing and press resistance.

Stiller's stock has gone down. He struggled to make an impact even in Europa League against the likes of Porto. Looks like he won't start for Germany in this World Cup.

Now that we got Cucurella we have more players in the squad whose personas I dislike than those I really like. First time ever that’s happened.

I watched Morocco Brazil and felt some regret that we chose to renew Carvajal over progressing Hakimi. I know Carvajal is a fantastic fullback and symbol of the club, and it would have been very tough for the club to just get rid of a senior player and canterano. I also know Hakimi’s supposed demands in his contract negotiations for a starting place could not be acceptable to the club, but Hakimi is a fantastic fullback on both defence and attack. If only we could have bumped his salary to a starter level salary range but loaned him out for a couple years. He is now a beast and also unattainable.

Despite his controversies, this is what I was thinking as well.

My gosh, La Cucaracha, Vini, Enzo, Mbappe, Thibo, Trent, Rudiger and Mourinho on the same team. The heat this team is gonna get will be so entertaining.

This is the ultimate heel team.

Wait until we get Enzo and he continues to sing his little ditties with his argentinian teammates

I hated it, when we sacked Xabi. Still on the fence about Mourinho. And so far, not so inspired by the players we brought in.

All that aside, it is refreshing to see the club executing a major pivot in transfer policy
    • Trust in the manager to build the squad. These signings have Mou written all over (maybe except Konate)
    • Bring in much needed experience / personalities - valuable on the field and even more in the locker room
    • Send a clear message of urgency to WIN given the type of signings (Mourinho included) & speed of execution
At this point, probably the best thing the club can do.

I think for the next few years, we are gonna have to accept that we are the baddies.

How have we made it possible that we are the baddies when Barca have Lamine and Gavi? Sucks, but it is what it is.

I only actively like Arda and Brahim out of this current crop of players (maybe Rodrygo as well, seems like a decent guy). The rest I am either neutral or ambivalent towards (90%) or just don’t like.

If Jose is in charge of signings, I expect him to replace “the good guys” with “c*nts” very quickly, and it seems he has already made a good start with Cucurella.

Whatever injects more energy, intensity and fight into this team, I'm all for it.

I've had enough of the lethargic teams that we got used to these last two years
