He played well credit to him... but against who? Look at that terrible Brazil midfield. Who wouldn't do well against them?
Croatian media: 🚨 JUST IN: Gvardiol is expected to sign a new deal and extending his stay at Man. City until at least 2032. I figured there was no way and the agent just let speculation run to ensure City make the maximum wage offer. So Nico it is.. hopefully he has a great WC with Germany to emphasize this for Florentino. Honestly it's great for Florentino as far as finances. He got Konate and Bernardo free. He can get Dumfries and Nico for around 75M€.
Can we get a confirmation on Munoz who is not JFD. I suspected they would not want to bring Munoz back so fast, but I am curious what buyback they have in there. Probably the same one they had before?
We had a buyout clause for Reguilon after selling him to Spurs for 30M. Higher buyback fee for Munoz likely.
Well this came out of nowhere. 🚨💣 EXCLUSIVE: Real Madrid reach verbal agreement to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, HERE WE GO!Verbal agreement in place between all parties, player too — he’s the left back wanted by Mourinho. Details to follow.Cucurella leaves #CFC and joins Madrid after World Cup. ⚪️🇪🇸 pic.twitter.com/kXRXWgADFm— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 14, 2026
First of all, that was lightning fast. Another player Atlético wanted who ended up signing for us. Now, if he arrives, it basically means Gvardiol is extending his contract with City. It'll be interesting to see whether another center-back comes in or if we're done strengthening the defense.
I like the player but thought he would eventually end up at Barca. What really throws me off is he does not seem like a Mou type of defender at all. He seems more like the type of player Xabi would want to keep because he's good on the ball and getting forward, a typical wingback, but not so great at being a literal and figurative "wall" in defense. Something's not right here, am I missing something?
JFD says Munoz prioritized playing time and chose Newcastle though Pool and Utd also showed interest. If there was one thing the World Cup player was clear about, it was his desire for consistent playing time at his next club, something he seems to have found at Newcastle . This was his sole concern once Real Madrid decided to let his agent, Juanma López, and the player himself decide his destination. Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as some Premier League teams, inquired about him, but the idea of joining the club from the north of England has always been his strongest suit.
Wouldn't say he's struggled at all. People take one or two mistakes and magnify this forgetting he's ONLY 21, starting at the biggest club in the world. I can't think of of many midfielders that have cracked the Real Madrid midfield this early in their career and handled the pressure the way he has. Great head on his shoulder, high work rate, great IQ, and all the skills to fit that position. Reminds me of Kroos early in his career where he was boxed into a CAM role; thank god he moved to Real Madrid and had a coach like Carlo to see something a bit outside of the box for him.
Btw RM finally has a Spanish player in the World Cup. Barca fans claimed Villa as their player in 2010 World Cup though he joined after the tournament only so why not.
Romano breaking Dumfries and Cucurella at Madrid. He has sources at RM again with the return of Mendes.
I agree. Asencio was atrocious last season and Militao hasn't been healthy for 3 seasons. Rudiger has bad knee. Hope we get Schlotterbeck and sell Asencio.
🚨🚨 BREAKING: MARC CUCURELLA IS JOINING REAL MADRID.DEAL DONE.VERBAL AGREEMENT REACHED. @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/BvxbVTUrdr— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) June 14, 2026 Wow. That was quick. So we have LB covered now. So it’s either Calafiori or Schlotterbeck for the CB position
