Juan Carlos has followed his career closely. Said Mateus is closer to Fede profile box to box midfielder with better upside in terms of press resistance.

Yeah but do you think we would have actually went through and benched Vini if he hadn't accepted to leave? PSG did the same to Mbappe and then they buckled.

Alvarez is a superstar..one of my favorite players to watch but in way is he worth more than €100m.

Gvardiol and Schlotterbeck are two excellent CBs

Calafiori would an excellent addition to the clinic, I'm sure Mihic and his crew already miss Alaba.

Haha no definitely not like that.

Tchouameni does a lot of things well but excels in nothing explicitly. In a double pivot, he can't act as the DM nor as the deep playmaker.

I think under those circumstances and with the threat of going to the WC in awful form, he would have accepted Perez's renewal offer.

Which is why I think the WC ticket with Brazil was the club's leverage.

When a player refuses to sign an extension and is sidelined by the club it usually end in the guy walking on a Bosman. One exception was Dembele with Barcelona in 2022: World Cup year.

Is there a better DM than Tcho at any top team in terms of defensive skills? Maybe Casemiro under Carrick.

Khedira was the weaklink as DM in 2011-12 team filled with world class players. Lacked pace, agility, tackling ability as DM. Only strengths were positioning and aerial ability.

Tcho has the physical gifts that are needed for a defensive midfielder in Mou's double pivot. I don't see Mou selling him unless there's a defensive upgrade. More likely scenario is Fede on the right wing with Tcho - Bernardo/Mateus double pivot.

This is the Galactico signing I thought Perez was going to surprise us with.

The midfield that the team has is complete an anti Mou football midfield.....he is used to players like Maniche/Deco...Essien/Lampard (very underated),Cambiaso/Stankovic,Alonso....Fabregas

these pace and power cant string 2 passes together frauds that we have cant play his football

to play counter attacking football the midfielders have to be smart, with quick adn decicive passing

why do we suck so much at counterattack with Vinni/the dictator in the team.....because the ball cant get to them ..who can pass??????Fede is just running,Jude is keeping it for too long and make idiotic Zidane moves,Tcho cant control a ball to save his life ,Camavinga is Camavinga

unless big changes happen,i dont see Mou building an effective Mou side wih these frauds

Gvardiol will have to reject all renewal offers for City to even consider selling this summer for 100 ME.

The more I see of him the more I see the natural successor for Lampard. He scored buckets of goals, had a good shot and arrived late into the box to devastating effect. Jude has more tools in his kit than Lampard did, but Lampard was a far better passer of the ball. I hope Mou can do something with him.

Mourinho's pretty underrated when it comes to fostering talent.

Btw hope Mateus Fernandes won't be another Andre Gomes if we end up signing him. He looked good at Valencia and was a complete flop at Barca. :D

These two teams are completely incompatible in what makes them tick historically. Maybe from Barca to Valencia works but even David Villa needed a complete system reinstall and hardware reset to function at Barca

    What I want:

    Gvardiol 90 million
    Wharton 110 million
    Konate
    Dumfries
    Endrick return

I think that's enough this summer and feasible.

But I expect Schlotterbeck and Mateus/Enzo instead of Gvardiol and Wharton. But I much prefer the latter two.

Maybe add in Bernardo as well.

signing Enzo over Wharton and Mateus will be a historic mistake ,we will watch the new Vitinhas,Pedris etc in other teams....and we will be stuck with more mediocrity

Enzo is the midfield version of Burger king and the dictator....

Enzo is pretty much ruled out due to 140 ME pricetag. Flo considers that kind of fee for attackers only. I will be happy if we add Schlotterbeck, Bernardo and Mateus who are realistic targets.

Only way I see us landing Gvardiol is if he had some kind of soulmate connection with Guardiola and wants to leave with him gone. Otherwise, everything seems to point toward him angling for an improved contract. Schlotterbeck seems much more possible. Or even Calafiori if the rumors are true on Mourinho insisting on an additional LB/CB hybrid, though seems weird to give up on 23-year-old Carreras already when that is his profile.

Carreras is a LB that can play CB. He started well, looked defensively solid and offensively competent. His second half of the season was shit but so was lots of others, not sure why spend resources on anything other than a backup for him at this point. Getting Gvardiol or Calafiori seems weird to me, better to invest this money on a top CB, CM, and RW (or FW depending on Vini/Mbappe plans).

The way I see it, we have two offensive RBs as it is (Trent, Dumfries), possibly to compensate for our lack of an attacking threat on that side of the pitch and also allows for another inverted/roaming midfielder on that side (Valverde/Bernardo/Guler). To balance things out you have two defensive LBs on the opposite side (Carreras, new LB). I think it might work out considering they’re unlikely to get much defensive help from Mbappe/Vini.

I keep saying things but I would really like to see Jude up top in a false 9 role, flanked by Vini/Mappe/Endrick. It will open up an extra midfield space for Guler/Paz. So something like this:

    Mbappe/Vini —-— Jude -—- Vini/Endrick/Munoz(?)

    Guler/Paz/Bernardo(?) — Valverde/Fernandes(?)
    Tchou/Pitarch
Defensive LB -—- CB ——-- CB —-- Attacking RB
