He was atrocious vs. Benfica that they had to take him off. Benfica pretty much left him on the ball and didn't even press because they knew he wasn't going to make the right decision. Definitely on point with a lot of room to grow.

Only way is if City is handed a severe penalty this summer, which may be why Pep is leaving anyway.

Havent watched Hjumland play just highlights and i really like him .He is the profile that this midfield is missing ,really good forward passer, calm on the ball and he mostly stays in that 6 zone ,he isnt another runner which we dont need

He looks like more dynamic Frenkie De Jong to me

A lot of interesting chatter going around...

I love Bastoni and Gvardiol... can't go wrong on either of those options imo...

Talk of Fede being in the double pivot is interesting. It would be the 10x version of Khedira back in the day.....dude was great positionally but Fede is Messi compared to him on the ball lol...

Cama, Brahim, and Franco (loan) out, to make way for Paz, Endrick and Munoz makes sense to me. Endrick really should have been left to develop another year, but ...oh well.

Khedira was a physical specimen. A genuine tree of a man. His size 15 feet were clumsy and shit for passing the ball, but man was he dominant in air and duels. Fede is just not similar to him as a profile in my opinion and hard to compare.

I don't know how people feel about offloading Brahim, but I'd like to have someone with a similar profile available. Someone who can weave his way through tight spaces etc.

I haven't watched Gvar closely since his tibial fracture in January. There is no reason for City to sell him. The idea that he loves RM or Pavon was idol in childhood + he offered his services just doesn't make sense..

Bastoni was always the pipe dream for me but he has severly underperformed this season. He plays as a LCB just like Huijsen, they also have some similar attributes. I don't think this pairing will work. I also don't see the club throwing €80-90m on him.

Again, the club won't make any buys before making meaningful sales..and it doesn't look like anybody is willing to leave..

Huijson would become Bastoni's exclusive sub because they are unlikley to pair well.
At some point, they will forced to play together because of injuries/suspensions which probably comes back to bite you.

The Bastoni rumors are probably clickbait when you take into account the price you list. It just does not make sense and I don't think Bastoni would be a Mourinho pick.

Why are they unlikely to pair well? Huijsen is literally the most ambidextrous CB I have ever seen, so surely he can play LCB or RCB without a problem, not that CB pairings with the same dominant foot is a significant issue. Bastoni isn't particularly slow is he?

It is not about being left or right footed. Bastoni is not a fast player. It would be like having two Huijson's defending at once. Bastoni's profile is what Huijson is supposed to be or at least what he will be if he progresses properly.

100% on point. He would fit well on Barca because of the high-line they play, but will be exposed at Madrid.

Are you sure Bastoni is particularly "not fast"? He seems to even get up and down the flank a fair amount and put in crosses, which I would never expect from a "slow" centerback.

Victor. He's one of ours and has been doing very well. Scoring goals coming in from the wing. Hard worker too. If we didn't want him back he would command a more than decent transfer fee.

I don't want to sell Brahim as i not only like him as a player and his profile on the pitch but he's also very much ok with being a bench player. But i feel like he's one of the easy targets to make room for folks like Victor Munoz. Paz is coming back too so he needs a roster spot which i am hoping is the Ceballos one and we finally say farewell to Dani. Both Munoz and Paz deserve a shot here with us, a real shot. If they come good its a big win for us having some academy guys back in the squad. But its difficult with so many players around. Camavinga, as much a i like him as a person, maybe it's time to move him. There is just one small part of me which says are we pulling the trigger too quickly. What if in 2 seasons he matures and becomes a great player we all envisioned he would. The talent is there but idk.

Mourinho has requested the signing of Bernardo Silva.

The 31-year-old midfielder's contract with Manchester City is expiring, making him a free agent. He is reportedly asking for €10 million net per season.

The player was offered to Real Madrid a month ago.

Think he'd prefer RM or Barca if those clubs really want him. Bayern too if Kompany wants him. He won't join another PL team. PSG doesn't have a starting midfield slot open and want to sign Alvarez in attack.

Turns 32 in August. Had a good season as CM. Probably can stay at this level for couple more years.

Silva doesn't really make sense to me. I feel like he is a shadow of his former self. Modric was easily better than him this past season.

Where would he even play? He can't play in a double pivot and we got Bellingham/Guler/Paz fighting for minutes in the 10 spot assuming Mourinho is plaing 4-2-3-1.

I have severe doubts that he can play CM going forward and the stats don't really say he had a good season. Modric easily outplayed him this year.

Modric can play until 45 and still would be more press resistant than most of our current midfielders due to his technical ability. His level drops due to physical decline. Bernardo was starting CM for City that won two domestic cups and fought for PL title until the end despite their only quality DM Rodri starting in just 17 PL games. I can see why Mou would want him.

Barca want a Lewa replacement as priority signing. Flick also wants to keep Rashford for next season. Apparently still have FFP issues so CB will be only addressed after those two signings.

So it doesn't seem like a midfield signing like Bernardo will be a priority for them.
