No way Manchester City will just sell one of their best young players. I was hugely in favor of us buying him when he signed for City but when the transfer fee was mentioned i pulled back and thought it was way too high for him. I still think it was but he has turned into a wonderful player, to be fair many (including more than few Croatian posters) called him a can't miss prospect and he's justified that tag imo.

Anyway, we have to find the right CB (speed speed speed!!!) and right RB along with a CM (plus replacing any shock exits) and i think we will be ready to go.
I still maintain that Rodri would be a smart signing and help us in the dressing room. I know you guys bring up the back end of a 4 years deal as being non productive but sometimes you have to take that hit in order to help fix something right away. If he can give us two good seasons i would consider that a win.

Back up RB. Man i have no ideas about that. Maybe you guys know of someone young who has quality but needs a season or two to become a starter??

This was our logic with the likes of Gvardiol, Konate, Upamecano etc. and now theyre unattainable. Sometimes you have to make a judgement. Advanced analytics on Diomande are fantastic. And he passes the eye test too.

Khusanov was a major fumble too. Kid's a monster.

I have always thought you overrate Diomande, but to each his own. Not very quick (could lose a few LBs) and I dont see him being as technically gifted as you think he is. He’s had injury issues this season as well. Good passing range though and young so still room to grow for sure.

Would rather we get Gvardiol if he is available, of course. Or someone like Gila who is still a good age and has a lot of experience.
    Khusanov is really solid.

Edit: wanted to add that i dont rate Konate or Upamecano much if at all so I dont consider those misses.

Basically there are posters who never got over Mou leaving the first time around and have been calling for his return ever since.

I just scrolled past social media site claiming that his return IS a triumph/victory and THE proof the club admits it was wrong to have ever fired him the first time.

    The complete revision of history of course will be that he’s the GOAT, greater than Carlo and Zidane (combined) and,;

    if he had continued as coach the club would have not only won la decima in 2014 but re-peated in 2015;

    Zidane’s 3-peat would have been 5 in a row from 2014-2018

and since he would never quit on the team like Zidane did the club would have kept winning the CL every year because after all he knew how to get the best out of Hazard unlike certain others for whom it’s already been established he’s better than.

THOSE TROPHIES WERE STOLEN FROM ME!!!!

Also he should be retiring after winning 12 straight trebles unfortunately mistakes and decisions were made outside of his control and here we are.

I would take Bastoni, the defense need big name with some experience.

We went from Ramos,Varane,Pepe.....peak Militao,Nacho,Rudiger,Alaba in his first season......to Asensio,Hujsen,Tchouameni as CB and the other finished players

There is no big name in this defense,no leadership....I would take both Bastoni and Gvardiol....sell the finished players and sell Asensio and Fran

Gvardiol is being linked to Bayern as heavy as he is to Madrid, and considering the people doing the linking (people that have a big platform on tv) , it's being considered an agent strategy to get the deal they want

Yeah. To me there is no real possibility they just sell one of the big talents like that after they spent years developing him.

We should focus on attainable targets at CB.

Now that the coach has been selected i am really looking forward to how we will fix the squad and how we will line up next season. I want to put the bad taste of this season behind me asap.

Until I see reporting that Gvardiol is unhappy and wants out, he is not worthy of even discussing here, as 24-year-old starter playing well for Man City with a contract until 2028.

If City lose the league and Pep does leave, expect a few players to follow, given they were poor last season aswell

Yes, players who played poorly, are old, or want out, none of which applies to Gvardiol it seems.

I would love Gvardiol in the team. Don't see it happening though. And if we're talking about City defenders Khusanov is also very good.

    Saliba has won the PL.

Maybe we can approach him now.

Yea. Only scenario where he could be available this summer is City getting relegated like Juve in 2006.

As much I think it’s impossible that City will be punished, Pep’s timing of his departure and lots of rumors of players looking for a lifeboat, there actually may be sanctions in store. I still think 90% chance they get away with it though.

As I remember it was close to 0 chance post the Prestianni incident, including my own feeling.

That kinda wiped the slate clean in my opinion but hey you’re entitled to your opinion :)

Mou will look to keep both Tcho and Fede before settling for lesser options imo. I buy Rodri or Bernardo as CM rumours more.

Can't count on Rodri to be sole DM for 50-60 games. Him playing alongside Tcho will give the defensive balance Mou would want given the profile of attackers we have.

Rodri - Tcho double pivot, Fede on the right helping TAA in big games, Jude AM.

Any insights on Gvardiol's tibial fracture injury from early this year? Do these injuries impact the player in the long run?

We're still pretending like Cama showed up at the club's door last season. It's the same line every year :ROFLMAO:

I think Rodri to Madrid is happening and will look exactly as you say in the big games.

TAA is going to have to convince Mou he is not liability. I see TAA getting benched in big games.

My focus has been the CB situation. That is the big ? Who will be their big cb signing. And will they sign 1 or 2?

From what I saw of Hjulmand, where he's better than Tchouameni is that he's actually a true DM, so will be your ball winner. Ball skills and going forward probably not as good, although his passing is actually better I would think. So probably a better fit for Mourinho, what do you think?
