Quite honestly this is the view the club will have on this matter, and you can argue it's not all that bad. You have to roll the dice on it. I know people are fascinated by how well Bayern does, but Bayern have lit up a lot of money on fire spending it on defenders they end up not happy with and i'd argue Tah was the cheapest and most comfortable move they've made in a long time.
Other that bypassing transfer negotiations, I dunno if it's that much better focusing on free transfers because the new players get higher signing bonuses and higher wages.
That's Perez's strategy by and large for CBs: it's worked in the past so it must work now, similar to what we do with coaches. I don't agree with it..
To be quite honest, the club is accidentally on to something because clubs that have really good defenders keep them until they aren't any more or their hand is forced in negotiations with the player. Look at Varane for example.
Hasn't worked since Rudiger. Saliba, Upamecano and Schlotterbeck all renewed, Konate is close to renewing..
Schlotterbeck basically renewed in a way that he could leave easier than if he wouldn't have. He got boohed in every single home game since. Worst renewal i've ever seen. "If a club comes knocking, you have to give me up, but if they don't i'll be glad to take some more money". Don't know who negotiated it for the player but he's a genius. That's correct. No single player group is more overpriced if i'm honest, especially WB/LB/RB. A position that needs depth always finds a dummy that invests heavy in one or two players and when the guy goes done or faces red/yellow card suspension it's "oh no, how?"
Gila is very fast. I think he is a fairly good option at the price they would need to pay. But they would have to buy Gila and another CB.
I have suspected for a while that if City get relegated, Rodri ends up at Madrid. That would drop his transfer fee which is already not high given his age, contact status, and injury history.
Mourinho's formation and tactics are somewhat predictable but so are his clashes. I can already see predictable clashes because Mourinho is going to throw a fit when a player does not do what he wants. I think TAA will probably get himself benched within a couple of montha.
Are we finally going to get a deep lying playmaker? With Mourinho, it looks like not. Aurelien and valverde are almost perfect for Mourinho. Mourinho will not change anything. It will be the same players again. Sick of this midfield.
Positions Real Madrid are considering to make transfers this summer: • TWO center backs • RIGHT BACK • MIDFIELDER • STRIKER @JorgeCPicon 🚨 JUST IN: Antonio Rüdiger wanted to renew for TWO years with Real Madrid, but he has ACCEPTED the club’s 1 year policy. He is set to STAY. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/ydwhF2Hu3z— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 18, 2026
I would first start by selling so we can afford all the players we are looking for: -Cama -Dani Ceballos -Gonzalo -Brahim Díaz -Raul Asencio* *If we are buying two CBs, we have no reason to keep him, especially since Rüdiger signed for another year. With Mendy out for a year, we can’t sell Fran. I would also sell Rodrygo, but he’s injured and will only return in early 2027. Also, i would activate Víctor Muñoz buyback clause and sell him to some EPL team.
I know there are weaknesses up and down the roster. All lines whether its the back line, midfield, or attack, could use some changes. But genuinely, I think the squad can be profoundly changed with 1-2 specific profile signings. And i'm not even talking about something as unlikely as selling Vini and bringing in Haaland. I know I'm in the minority for him, but signing a midfield profile like Adam Wharton I think could fundamentally alter so much of our play. From solidity at the top of our box, our build up with the ball, to chance creation at the attacking end. I don't see many links for him any more, but I really think a player like that could boost so many results for us. Maybe not make us CL favorites again, but certainly change our day to day in the league. I desperately want to know who we are willing to sign in midfield.
Good player who can become even better, but for that he needs to make the leap from Lazio (and I think he will). It's a matter of whether it's going to be us or another club.
Two CBs: - 0.5 Rudiger (contract extension) + 0.5 Militao (considered new signing once he returns from his injuries) - 1 Jacobo Ramon Right Back: - ? Midfielder: - Nico Paz Striker (read Forward): - Endrick I jest. Sort of.
I think the issue is this particular group of players are entitled, ego centric and don’t work hard enough. Adding 1-2 players into this shit stew won’t make it taste any better I’m afraid. Unless Jose has the authority to bench any player, it’s an uphill battle. I’d like to see either Vinny or Mbappe gone, Fede or Tchoumeni gone, and Jude or Cama gone. Pick whomever you want. I don’t care. Also ship out Diaz and Ceballos, Fran and Gonzalo. Loan Frano out. Thats the level of purge we need.
with this logic we would be 0.5 win the league by coming second in the table—Militao is completely out, and Rudiger is done at 34
🚨 JUST IN: Real Madrid are yet to take action on the opportunity to sign Joško Gvardiol. So far, they have only listened to the proposal. @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/ziyvZYwrtV— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 18, 2026
