The fact that Eder Militao is still in this conversation is insane. The dude has been injured for the better part of THREE YEARS and the club keep counting on him. Watch him turn up the year before renewal, and we'll have another Ferland Mendy situation on our hands.
Agreed. Idk who saw the Benfica K/O tie and said "this Madrid will win things". Honestly, I am terribly disappointed with Alonso. He seemed so smart at Leverkusen. But then he came to Madrid and completely became out of his depth. He was playing a different starting XI every game for the 3 months he was here. He never established any serious relationships with the big names in the lockerroom. He played very defensive and his substitutions were often either super late or completely wrong. It just seemed like Real Madrid was a step too early for him. He should've had to manage at least 1 or 2 other clubs before arriving. Ideally he should've gone to Bayern or Liverpool before Madrid.
Alonso was a developing coach that took the jump too fast and got trucked by the demands. Sacking him was still a mistake even if you didn't believe in him. Worst case you would have won a nadaplete. Arbeloa guaranteed that right away.
This is the pattern, extend players no matter what. Ceballos, Mendy, Dani (not surprisingly since he laid the brick) Militao. All cumulative have contributed pretty little the last 3/4 seasons
Excepting a CB and RB to be signed this summer. Mario says reinforcing defense will be Mou's main request.
Alaba is leaving, Militao is perpetually broken, Rudiger is 33 and barely functional. Same goes for RB with Carvajal leaving..so yeah a CB/RB is a no-brainer even if we were coached by ChatGPT. I expect Gonzalo to stay if Jose is made official. And a tempo setting midfielder + some "Pedro Leon" player forced by Perez/JAS so that Mou can use him as an example in his pressers..
🚨 CONFIRMED: Endrick will RETURN to Madrid after Lyon’s last game. He is BACK! @marca pic.twitter.com/JqQdInNbXv— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 15, 2026 🚨 A BIG summer for Endrick.• Expected to go to USA for World Cup• 100% will return to Madrid. @marca pic.twitter.com/itbFN8TxgR— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) May 15, 2026
It's a good league in developing players. Di Maria, Pepe etc came from Portuguese league (inferior to Ligue 1) and delivered at RM right away. Because they had developed well at Benfica and Porto. Endrick should only agree to return if Mou counts on him. Warming the bench will only waste another season of his career when he should be gaining playing experience.
Militao will miss 5 months after his recent injury. Hasty decision to renew him until 2028 after his first ACL has backfired immensely. https://as.com/futbol/militao-complica-la-decision-f202605-n/
If Mourinho is back, I would expect us to go hard after Matheus Fernandes from West Ham. Profile is a fit for the midfield, represented by Jorge Mendes, and will be at a bit of a cut price given relegation.
Would really like us to give Diego Aguado a chance, and take a run at someone like Gvardiol who fits two roles in one. Gvardiol/Huijsen/Rudiger are a decent trio, Aguado is also versatile, Militao becomes your 5th CB.
⚡️Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal set to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this summer➕DC already aware of the club's decision@TheAthleticFChttps://t.co/TpAxy9L5Eh— Mario Cortegana (@MarioCortegana) May 16, 2026
Bittersweet. I hope he wasn't the one leaking info to the press. Not really captain material, and hardly is an elite RB any longer. Good time for both parties to part ways.
Also is there any chance Madrid offloads scrublord Dean Huijsen and card magnet/airhead Eduardo Camavinga?
Most likely not, they'll take a massive loss and quite frankly the club is mostly financially tied up. Don't think this will be a big summer, Rodri, Endrick, Paz, basically Rodri plus guys coming back.

How would the club take a massive loss on Camavinga and Huijsen? Paid 31 for Cama, he's worth 50. 62 for Huijsen, he's worth 65.
The club didn't just pay for the transfer fee, they invested significant coin into his contract and it runs longer than a Somali marathon runner. You're taking a loss on both players if you move them. Practically invested all that money for them to land at a different spot with their peak ahead of them. Plus with the contracts they are on they are in no hurry to just take whatever offer you're willing to accept. They'll force you to accept the offer THEY want to take.

So Carlo wins a CL and La Liga miracle double with his starting defense and GK out injured with busted ACL's and the club says if your so good then prove that wasn't a fluke and do it again only this time instead of getting to used the old lineup and formation and instead of signing new, young healthy defenders we give you Mbappe. When that fails the club fires Carlo and give a new, young mostly unproven coach hundreds of millions of dollars to fix the mess Carlo left behind but instead the yound mostly unproven coach was only able to cause a divide in the lockerrom due to not having the experience of managing decorated veterans. So now that that failed the club decides that best course of action is to hire a manager whose entiure 3 year tenure at Madrid is summed up and remembered by the absoutely scorched earth situatioin that nobody thought could be fixed and we come full circle back to Carlo not getting any of the things much worse coaches with much worse resumes get from the exact same club and president.
