I do think we will splash this summer. I'm expecting 200 million+ in transfer purchases. But I will say it's odd that we get a ton of locker room leaks and very little buzz about signings.

Last year by this time we knew TAA was a done deal and Huijsen, Carreras and Zubimendi were requested by Xabi.

I reckon Alaba, Carva and maybe Ceballos will be replaced this summer. Could be through loan/buyback returnees too.

I really have hard time believing that Fede is a ******** that everyone says he has been this year. Captain for Uruguay, never had any problems before, always seems dedicated to the club. I think that we dont know a lot about this whole ordeal. Fede is 10 times more important Than Tchou, i think Tchou is such an average midfielder, maybe could be good CB though.

I gotta say that I also find it very strange and looked to be out of character for the Fede we know. I’m not sure who to believe anymore these days to be honest.
As for who’s more important, honestly, it’s both. AT is our only true DM (AFAIK). Fede have shown that when needed, and it is needed in Real Madrid, he can cover many positions.

I don’t think the club has any spare money to splash. Unless they sell someone for a lot of money. I expect only minor signing, more like JM hard working players that only he think are great players.

Tcho is not a CB. He's one of the best DMs at club and NT level. He will have offers reflecting that if both sides decide to move on this summer.

I dont know what do you mean by never had any problems before, he has been in the news for allegedly punching (or at least confronting) a rival player after a game in a parking lot. Also has a big part in a lot of drama with Uruguay NT, publicly criticizing his coach Bielsa and being part of a mini coup.

I like the player, and the character he portrays on the field I really like, so its all very disappointing. You are already taking sides against Tchouameni, but the main point is Fede, Vini, Jude, etc.. these players all have (had) a lot of potential on the field and as fan favorites off of it, but all 3 are trending in a very toxic direction. Vini is the furthest along, and its all very disappointing.

To add to that, we clearly have an immature team with a lot of young players. Fede and Vini, and Tibo who is also not very endearing, all the three next in line as captains if Carvajal moves on. What does that mean for future atmosphere in the club when those 3 are your leaders, and the ones influencing the rest of the youngsters.

I liked what you said about Fede, but I don’t agree with you about Tchou.
Tchou is an excellent DM. Since his first season, he has really improved and gets better every season. He was one of our best players this season.
Anyway, if you sell him, who would you even bring in to replace him?

Before thinking about selling him, I’d rather sell Cama because this dude hasn’t improved since he signed. He makes too many mistakes (and his mistakes really cost us this season), plus he’s injury-prone.

Remember that report mid season that was talking about how Lucas Vazquez told Carvajal and Valverde they would lose their mind trying to manage this squad on their own.

I can definitely see both of them just quitting and feeling like it's pointless to talk to this team.

Agree to disagree about Tchou, comparing him to Casemiro and Makelele , i just dont see it. Diarra level to me. But he could be good CB , if he chooses to switch.
I did not know about Fede's issues with Uruguay, as far as parking lot incident, if i remember it was said that Baena insulted his dead child, or something along those lines, and though its not an excuse to be violent, but i see how you could react to despicable thing like that. I don't know, maybe he is cnut after all, but we just seem to chase all headlines without knowing really what happened.

Yes totally out of character, not a man who has been an honorable servant since debuting as a teenager.

There’s got to be a whole lot more to the story and Fed might have felt he had no choice but to “take one for the team”, metaphorically and really.

As for Tchou, hit the nail on the head. Top quality CB playing as a glorified DM. He’s no Kante, Makelele, Viera, Casemiro, but is more like Diarra, Graveson, Pablo Garcia.

Its all rumours, nobody knows what's going on. There's definitely locker room issues, signing a Rodri and getting a coach and handing him more authority would probably help fix that. I personally wouldn't sell Fede based on what we truly know, but I wouldn't be surprised if the rumors are true, there's just so much trouble he has been tied to.

How many minutes did these 3 play this season? I sort of get the attachment to Dani but Alaba should have been let go when he injured his knee and Ceballos should have been sold 2 years ago. We need a player like Ceballos but that guy doesn't want to be here but refuses to entertain offers, it is a mess.

Fede has been extremely disappointing but as a footballer he is very special.

i would think three times before selling him.

Fede is the type of player who could really flourish under Mourinho.

He and Jude are just not your alpha midfielders we thought they were. They are excellent pieces. You need to put them next to Generals who will run the show.

They are not guys you build around on the pitch.

Put them around a Kroos, Rodri, Vitinha in the right system and they can really shine.

Tchouameni is absolutely the worse player. No way he's untouchable.

If we get someone like Rodri, Mou will likely bench Arda.

I just find this setup problematic.

i still think the passing and control would be lacking.

Arda would probably request to get sold after a season or two if that happens.

Mou won't care about what happens beyond next season. No coach at RM should imo. He'd want experienced reinforcements at CM and CB, I think.

Mourinho 2.0 is coming whether we like it or not. Don't get me wrong. I am NOT excited about the hugely polarizing and potentially volatile mixed bag that Mourinho is. But I think this shows desperation from Florentino at throwing the kitchen sink at the problem when nothing else is seeming to work.

I do not believe Mourinho will last past a year at the helm. But if Mourinho joining means players that are cancerous like Vini, Fede and Mbappe get sold or pegged down a notch, I'm all for it.
